We attended the Culture Center and went through their walkthrough. We do this several times. My question is where are the pictures of all the famous West Virginians at the end of the walkthrough? Where is Mary Lou Retton? Where is Don Knotts? Where is Brad Paisley? Where is Randy Barnes? That is the sentiment of West Virginia, and everyone that is famous, I can probably name up to 20 people, not one time are they featured in the entire Culture Center walkthrough.
I have a couple of 8-foot by 12-foot American flags that are worn and a little tattered. I was wondering if anybody would have any use for them.
I read with interest the Readers' Voice comment about how liberal talk show hosts are getting a free pass because they are comedians. I really wish I could find a liberal talk show host in the Charleston area on the radio. WCHS only gets my business when there are sports on.
About the free meals, I think that is great for all county students, but they are not all home-cooked meals. Go in the Valley area in Fayette County. They're still precooked. They come in on the truck. People see this. I'm a parent, and it is not a home-cooked meal at my child's school and they have to eat in the rooms in the mornings, which makes a mess.
I would like to say thank you very much to the workers at the Cross Lanes Kanawha County Library. All of them are knowledgeable, very helpful, and very pleasant. Kudos to the workers there at the Cross Lanes Library.
Where on earth are people coming up with these totally insane as well as untrue stories and theories about the president? Bring around the bus to the funny farm.
The independent voter who believes that all welfare recipients have a better standard of living than taxpayers who are paying their bills, you know you really need to learn to think for yourself. This is just not so.
Hats Off to Mayor Frank Mullens, his very able staff and the city council for the huge new business coming to our town of South Charleston. Brains and hard work pay off!
Plummeting natural gas prices are pushing U.S. industries into virgin terrain, even beginning to dislodge cheap Western coal from its once-untouchable perch as the nation's favorite fuel for power production. From the Wall Street Journal.
Hogan Gidley, Santorum's communications director, said Santorum would run again in 2016. Sounds like he is conceding the 2012 presidential election to President Obama. Now we need a Democrat Congress to support our president.
Unlike the recent caller stating he or she listened to 580 radio two times before turning it off after Mike Agnello returned from being suspended for law violations, I did not listen even the first time after I read he had been reinstated by the radio station. This guy is a Rush Limbaugh wannabe and is a danger to anyone within hearing range of his senseless rants.
If the Supreme Court does not uphold the health-care act, they will ultimately be shaping their own future. There would be a groundswell of energy focused on getting judges who are more progressive. And everyone knows who appoints judges. I doubt they will chance it. This is the way a democracy is supposed to work.
This is in reply to the person who was complaining about Suddenlink because they are getting the message "We appreciate your patience. This channel will be back shortly." The same thing was happening to me with the small cable box in my bedroom. Suddenlink was called, a technician came to the house and replaced my cable box with an upgrade and it works fine now.
I shall never forget who and which party got this country in the hole that it is in today, and I shall never forget who it was that was elected by the people to bring change to our country and dig us out of this hole, and I think that has been accomplished. At least it's improving every day.
