This is for Joe Manchin and Earl. They ought to switch their parties to Republican, what they truly are. Not supporting the President is terrible. I am one Democrat that's left with no choice but not to vote. They made it impossible to vote for them. Can't vote for a Republican, so I'll leave it blank.
I am appalled that anyone would think Obama has done anything for our country other than promote himself politically. Where do you people get your information? I think some would vote for the devil if he was on the Democratic ticket.
Mr. Jay Rockefeller, I applaud your gumption. You are my new hero in a time when true heroes are few and far between. As for our other senator and governor, my plan is to leave your line blank on Election Day.
Thank you, Senator Rockefeller. They won't listen, but thanks anyway for telling the truth about coal.
So the choice for president is between a Christian who spent his working life helping poor people and a Mormon who spent his life getting rich, and then getting filthy rich. He also spent time setting up off shore tax shelters and a Swiss bank account. For every job he sent overseas he got $20,000 richer. And, he's proud of it!
Sen. Rockefeller's pro-EPA vote is the last straw. He no longer represents the state of West Virginia but the Obama administration's radical agenda to supplant the coal industry which supports the state's economy. John Raese should immediately drop his contest against Manchin and target Rockefeller for 2014 instead.
The editorial on "waffling" is right on target, two more lost votes for the Judas gang of three. President Obama has done a great job compared to President Bush.
Castor bean seeds can be ordered online from many seed suppliers. They can also be purchased on eBay with many varieties to choose from. We are no longer limited to items available locally. If you don't have a computer, I'm sure you know someone who does.

I would like for nothing more than to see my friends and neighbors go back to work at Century but it should not be on my back by making me pay $12 to $18 more each month on my electric bill.
How dare President Obama expect coal mines to mine coal legally? Doesn't he know that coal-mine operators are royalty and coal mining is far more important than the health of the public?
Speaking of Lincoln and Boone County roads, they are awful, especially county roads, Sugartree Mountain and Cameo Road.
Mitt Romney always likes to say that the government doesn't create jobs. Private sector creates jobs. What about the millions of people in the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Marine Corps, the Coast Guard, the National Park Service, the Highway Departments, the policemen, the firemen, the teachers, the state government employees, the governors, the legislators, the president, the congressmen? The government created their jobs. Romney doesn't know what he's talking about.
While it may be trendy for Democrats and the media to bash Wall Street to garner votes and sell newspapers, spend about five minutes researching the leaders of the 10 largest financial institutions and it will become apparent that these folks are predominantly not Republicans.
Thanks Sen. Rockefeller for standing up to those wanting to pollute our precious waters in West Virginia. We need waters to be clean of harmful chemicals to live our daily lives. A clean fishing industry will come both here and in our oceans. Shame on self-enriching, cowering, and cowardly votes by our other state officials.
I want to commend Governor Tomblin, Senator Manchin, and Representative Rahall for their representation of the beliefs and desires of West Virginians, and not supporting policies and elected officials that do not have the best interest of West Virginia and its people. I did not plan to vote for Governor Tomblin's re-election. However, he can be assured of my vote due to the stand he has taken.
Gouged at the pump: On June 20 I paid $3.65 for gas in Point Pleasant. On the same day a family member traveling through Rock Hill, S.C., paid $2.97.
This morning's paper indicated that we have sent 16,000-plus publishing and arts pamphlets in Charleston, and Susie Salisbury thinks that's wonderful. Well, we have a city [with] infrastructure ... falling apart. The streets are in deplorable condition, and we want to outline the arts and discuss the arts in Charleston. Do you know what? We need to get rid of people like this. We, the voters in Charleston, need to get rid of people who want to discuss the arts and get some people who know how to bring business to Charleston. We have empty buildings everywhere.
