While suffering through the recent weather disaster, many residents of St. Albans were afraid to leave their homes due to the lack of police presence. Are the regular-duty uniforms too hot to patrol the city? There wasn't an officer to be seen.
Why do we say Obama is dangerous? He cannot do these things alone. Congress is right there also. Our whole government is a danger to the country. We need to clean house every eight years. No lifetime terms for any of them. They abuse the system. All of them are only there to help themselves, not the people.
I would like to thank PEIA for screwing over the Face-to-Face diabetic Medicare retirees.
I think it's a shame that Dish Network and West Virginia Media cannot reach an agreement to carry WOWK on its programming. I now no longer can watch channel 13 and am forced to go through the hassle of changing to another cable/satellite service.
I am a conservative, but I must say these right-wing zealots with their ideas, hypocrisy and take-no-prisoners attitude are getting more scary with each passing day. It has become much easier for me to see how McCarthyism was able to take hold for a little while. I wonder how much damage this bunch will do before they are also relegated to the trash bin of history.
The PSC does not regulate Suddenlink because it is not a utility. Believe it or not, cable television and cellphones are not a necessity. They are a luxury. Quit asking the government to take care of everything in your life. I promise you, you will not like the results.
The next time you complain about what you have to pay AEP to provide your electricity, remember the storm of June 29, 2012. Thank you, AEP Corp., AEP workers and subcontractors, for working so hard to restore my power. I appreciate the efforts you take to keep the lights on.
This year your homeowner's insurance went up 10 to 15 percent to cover catastrophic disasters such as tornadoes and floods in 2010 and 2011. This year will probably be no different. Between out-of-control forest fires out West and the East Coast storms causing vast power outages, rates will go up again. Insurance companies have to pass high claims cost on to the consumer.

Once the golf tournament at The Greenbrier is over, Mr. Jimmy "Gimme" Justice will want millions to recoup expenses for the gala and the cost to clean up the course to make it playable.
The major difference in Mitt Romney's version of health care and Obamacare is that Mr. Romney's version was passed at the state level, in a state that the people wanted it. Obamacare is being forced down everyone's throat whether they want it or not. I'd like to see affordable health care for people, if done the right way. But this should be a decision made at the state level.
Having National Board Certification as a teacher means you were willing to jump through hoops to acquire a title. The state pays for teachers to get their certification, which is the reason for the "boot camp." It is costly for teachers to fail any part of the process. The mentors are NBC teachers. The state pays them $500 per day, lodging and mileage. Wow. Expensive. Isn't this "teaching the test," which always draws complaints?
How is the texting law going to be enforced with all the illegal dark-tinted glass out there?
If the power companies would do preventive maintenance like they used to do, this storm would not have been as bad as it was. Instead they will pay overtime and let people lose food in their freezers and stay in record-breaking temperatures, all to try to save a buck and bet on no bad weather.
To the caller who bashed Obama-Biden as a bad combination and compared them to "Carter-Agnew": Mr. Carter's vice president was Walter Mondale. Mr. Agnew was Mr. Nixon's vice president and resigned after being indicted. As you said, "Wake up, America, before it's too late."
Nancy Pelosi called it. Two days before the vote to uphold the Affordable Care Act, she predicted that Chief Justice John Roberts would vote to uphold the law. She predicted the vote would be 6-3, however.
For crying out loud -- would you people stop whining about the price of gasoline? If you think it is so much cheaper somewhere else, then move there. Get over it.
I pay $1,900 a year for my family, through my company, for premium, top-of-the-line health insurance. The company I work for, like most others, is going to discontinue that premium insurance plan. Now I get to pay more for Obamacare and receive lesser benefits. Now that's a liberal utopia at its best. The working stiffs get it put to them again.
