Just got my Gander Mountain sales flyer. It showed 81 different rifles, pistols or shotguns for sale. How can that be when Obama and Pelosi were going to take away all our guns? NRA: Never Really Accurate.

I enjoyed reading the interview with Mayor Danny Jones. He certainly has had a full life. I don't live in the Charleston area, but absolutely I would vote for him for mayor again if I lived there.

Hey, veterans? Mitt Romney is 65 years old. Where was he hiding during the Vietnam War? If he is such a great patriot, why would his money be in Swiss bank accounts and Cayman Island accounts? He is a draft-dodging tax evader.

What does the word "derecho" mean and what is the origin of it?

You Bush supporters are the most desperate people alive. To say that this storm is Obama's Katrina is the most idiotic statement made all year long. At least these people had a home to go back to when their power came back on. Please think before you speak.

Is the reader calling Jane Fonda a Communist because she was against the Vietnam War, as many of us were? You say patriots died to defeat Communism but you haven't. It exists in Russia and in China where practically all our stores buy their goods.

If Tomblin, Manchin and Rahall are going to turn their back on the people with pre-existing conditions and the caps of the insurance company to side with the Republicans like they have been doing, why don't they register Republican?

I'm wondering if the Republicans really have children or grandchildren or if they even worry about the air they breathe or the water they drink. I think money is their main concern. They think the rest will automatically come to them.

The surging flood of dark money from Wall Street bankers, casino moguls, insurance executives and secret corporations of every sort is beginning to arouse suspicion among ordinary working people, who have also started to wonder what Mitt Romney really did as a businessman and why he still won't release his tax returns.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the men and women that have been toiling to put our state back together. Some folks are complaining but know nothing of the huge task at hand.

What does the derecho storm have to do with President Obama? And comparing the derecho (as horrible as all this has been) is certainly not on the same level as Katrina. Your bitter attitude is showing.

The caller making remarks about Jane Fonda: Good Lord, that was 40-plus years ago. Get over it. You ever do anything when you were younger you'd like to redo?

I would like to thank all of the AEP workers as well as all of the out-of-state workers that came and worked to restore our power. Mine was off 10 days. They took a nearly impossible job in extreme heat and handled it as best as could be.

I have to say that the person whining about the noise of a generator either still had power or was jealous tat they didn't have a generator.

Capito and McKinley both voted to take healthcare away from 31 million people -- mostly women and children.

Just saw on the news that Mitt Romney tried to spike the crowd at the NAACP convention by flying in his own African Americans to cheer for him. Wonder if he let them ride in the plane or strapped them to the top?

Just when I think I can't get more angry at the do-nothing Congress, they waste time on their 33rd vote to attempt to repeal the law that will keep insurance companies from discriminating against my niece because of her former brain surgery.

The collapse of the coal industry and loss of mining jobs in the state is absolutely, undeniably tied to President Obama and his EPA and any other explanation is a delusion and a deception.

The tax increase on roll-your-own cigarette shops is not about taxes, it's about big tobacco companies pressuring our Legislature.

I would like for someone to explain to me how any Democrat in this state can refer to themselves as progressive when they perpetually re-elect to office the same candidates, the same party has held a majority in all branches of government for 80 years, and failure is always the result.
