The hardhearted good citizens who wish to deny welfare citizens the American's right to vote should go to church more often and listen to Christ's messages.
Yes, I would like to thank the Armstrong Creek Volunteer Fire Department and also the National Guard up here in Fayette County. My power was off for nine days and they come up here and they supplied us with water, ice, and MREs and even cooked breakfast and supper and even gave us bread. They've been real troopers. I really appreciate them. Thank you very much.
This is to the old man who sits on his porch and lets his dog bark at 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. in the morning. Show some respect. Not everyone's up that early.
Thanks to all the power company people that were so good to work in West Virginia, especially Kanawha County and in the heat and the rain to help needy people. God bless all of them. Even other state workers came to our rescue. Thanks very much.
I would like to know if there's anywhere in the Charleston area where you can buy Cajun chicken or chili-flavored Ramen noodle soup.
This is to the person who was complaining about all the generators that were running when the electric was off. At least I'd rather hear the generators running than I would these kids sitting out on the porch playing their music loud in their cars when they could be in the house listening to the music.
Anyone coming off of Bridge Road wanting to cut [in front of me] on the South Side Bridge after I waited my turn to get through the light ... you're not going to do it. Get in line and take your own turn because you're not getting in front of me.

They shouldn't remove Joe Paterno's statue. They just need to turn it so it looks the other way. I can't believe a school would put their reputation before the safety of innocent kids.
If the government is doing such a good job running Medicare., why are we seeing so many commercials telling us to buy supplemental insurance to cover what Medicare no longer covers? Sounds to me the program is having trouble. Now we have the same people responsible for Medicare controlling all our medical needs. How can that make sense?
Obama didn't go all out against guns during his first term because he knew it would hurt a re-election bid. If by some chance he gets a second term he will follow through with his gun control plans because he won't have to worry about approval ratings.
To the person whining about a neighbor's generator whining right outside your window: 1) buy some ear plugs and 2) would you like a little cheese to go with your whine? I think I detect a bit of envy or jealousy in your statement.
Senator Manchin was right on the mark with a perfectly timed point and another reason to end U.S. involvement in Afghanistan insteading of spending billions on their infrastructure. Hey, John Raese! Where do you stand on that issue? Will you support the perpetual, multi-billion dollar, neocon military agenda for a "new middle east" or take care of America first?
Instead of Appalachian Power expecting to charge its victims, er customers, every time their lines and poles fall down, if they would start working on a plan to bury most of the electric lines, then we would not have such widespread problems in the future. Get with it, Appalachian Power. Put your money where your mouth is.
The coal companies themselves have stated that the main cause of mines closing and job layoffs (in their own financial reports) is the decline in the usage of coal. Therefore, the person in the Reader's Voice of Friday, July 13, who was so sure it is Mr. Obama and the EPA who are at fault should maybe check again.
The unprecedented attack on the EPA is another right-wing fable thrust upon a very gullible and fleeceable public and evidently very misinformed UMW. It is and continues to be a tactic to increase profits.
