I am a senior lady living on Social Security and was scammed by a Montgomery man for $750. Please be sure to check out men claiming to fix roofs. He promised a contract, which he never did deliver. People scamming seniors are dogs and he claims to be a Christian.
To those who are totally ignorant of West Virginia taxes, the tax on Internet purchases is the same sales tax that you pay every time that you buy something at any place of business in West Virginia. This is not a new tax. Understand now?
Consider this: There is a limited amount of wealth in any country, including ours. For one person to get more, someone else has to give some up. For one to get rich, many have to give some up. The top 1 percent of our population now has 90 percent of our wealth. Do we want to give them the rest? If so, vote Republican.
To the person complaining about a 6-year-old seeing the Batman movie: Why don't you mind your own business? Would you prefer they leave the child home alone? The problem is the lunatic that shot people, not the folks who took their children to the movies.
Well, people of West Virginia get ready. AEP lost $94 million due to the storm and their poor maintenance on their power lines, but who will pay for it? Get ready for the Public Service Commission to grant their buddies at AEP a big raise to cover their irresponsibility.
To the person talking about the president supporting black lung, well surely he supports people drawing a check for black lung. He supports anybody drawing a freebie that taxpayers pay and he is out to destroy the coal mining industry.
I was wondering what it would take to lure a real meteorologist like Chris Bailey back to our area for WSAZ evening weather forecasts? "Tourguide Tony" should be relegated to the tour bus, which he would be better suited so he can ride into the "blaze of glory" sunset with microphone in hand. In turn, we would get a reliable weather forecast like Chris used to provide us with.
What none of you really understand is, the state and federal governments own all that you have and all the money you have earned. They are just kind enough to allow you to keep enough to survive on. At least that's how liberals look at it.
I, for one, will never vote for a president who is hiding his past. Romney clearly is ashamed of his financial past and how he's conducted his life, and he needs to come clean before anyone should vote for him. Just what is he hiding?
Is there any category that West Virginia doesn't rank in the bottom five in the nation? So far, we lack in education, smoke too much, are fat, are unhappy, and the sad truth is that it's true.
To the writer who asked for some gun nut to tell them why assault weapons should be allowed to be bought and sold in the United States: It is very simple, Second Amendment. Case closed.

To the person who said if Obama is re-elected as president, he will be re-elected by people who is on welfare: I have worked 32 years and just retired and I will be voting for Obama.
I'm wondering how all those gung-ho cops made it this time without shooting several of their own. It reminds you of a western movie where the sheriff, every man in town, chases one man out into the desert and shoot him down.
I'm wondering if the Republicans have children or grandchildren or if they even worry about the air the kids breathe or the water they drink. I think money is their main concern. They think if you have millions hid back you don't need anything else.
I've just read the Sandy Wells column on Frank Stowers. It is long past time for him to pack it in and retire.
What's wrong with the FEMA number that you call on dial and the phone rings and rings and rings and no one answers. Do they not want you to report it, the loss that you had on food?
An insane idiot kills 12 people with a gun in Colorado. A sane person kills 11 people with a pickup truck in Texas. Are we going to try as hard to ban pickup trucks as we are guns from the public?
Well, now that the NCAA is finished with their Penn State scandal, maybe they can start to work with the pope and the Catholic Church.
In response to Monday's comment, I do work. I do pay taxes. I'm not on welfare, never have been. And I will be voting for Barack Obama.
I don't know why that teachers in West Virginia even have a union, their AFT or WVEA. Your insurance is no good, and after retirement, you don't have any at all that's worth anything. You can get it cheaper other places. And all these same people will vote for a Democrat.
What the NCAA has done to Penn State is way overboard, and Penn State is done. They'll never recover from this. They might as well lock the doors and board up the windows. They're done as a university, educationwise and sportswise in any way, shape or form. This is a death knell for Penn State.
I can't understand why someone would complain about a generator running, which is rarely used -- only in storms and power outages -- when we have these riding lawn mowers that are being run full force three at a time in our neighborhood and on Sunday. That is a shame.
