We saw in the Republican debates that Gov. Romney had no foreign policy or national security experience, and now he's picked a running mate with even less. I think Romney wanted someone with appeal to the super-rich who are paying for his campaign, and Ryan wants to cut taxes for the rich even more. We've tried trickle-down before and it doesn't work.
I'm sure that between Barack and Michelle Obama and their numerous TV appearances, magazine articles, etc., etc. they are becoming millionaires pretty fast. Who knows how many foreign investments they have right now and how many millions they have now?
I looked in the newspaper today for my sister-in-law's obituary. Unfortunately it wasn't in there.
I've got a prepaid cellphone that requires you to renew your minutes even if you don't need any just because a certain date is coming up. Are there any prepaid cellphones anybody knows of where you don't have to do that until you really need those minutes?
My question is to Paul Ryan. Did he vote for the $500 million bridge to nowhere in Alaska and did he vote for the Medicare D prescription program that was never funded?
I have no sympathy for those Constellium workers on strike. They have a good job and don't even know it.
If we had a third-party candidate running for president right now, he would be elected hands down.
As a taxpayer in Kanawha County, I believe firmly that the School Building Authority, when there are projects that need to be done in Kanawha County, they should have priority. Kanawha County gives the lion's share of money to them and therefore should get consideration before other projects.
Hey, buddy. I agree with you about new kitchens, although you give women too much credit by calling them ladies. When my wife asked for one, I bought her a new microwave and some fancy paper plates and plastic silverware. Those frozen dinners still taste the same, though.
Well, I see Nitro's new police chief wants to get to know the residents better. I have an idea. Talk to us. We live here. We see you all drive up and down the streets. We try to flag you down. We try to let you know what's going on around us, yet you just keep on driving while you're talking on your cellphones and ignoring the citizens of Nitro.
To get people to sign up for the voter ID just tell them it's another free government entitlement program. They will find transportation to sign up and will form a double line at the door and down the street.

I drove into the Kanawha Falls area but couldn't even see the scenic view of the falls for all of the trees and underbrush. What's up with that? That is one of West Virginia's most scenic views. Come on DNR, cut down the shrubbery ... and while you are at it, patch the potholes in the access road.
The "swiftboating" of President Obama is beginning, with ads produced by the GOP criticizing his killing of bin Laden appearing. Disgusting.
Kudos to Susan Perry and others, for opposing DHHR Secretary Rocco Fucillo, charging taxpayers $6,277 on his expense account, for coming to work a few days a week this year, and awarding contracts to the highest bidder. It cost them their jobs, while Fucillo will probably get a promotion!
Another South Charleston Summerfest. Can the entertainment please start on time? People make plans -- work, baby sitters, etc. -- and the schedule is off by an hour or more. Please be considerate of the audience who travels quite a distance to attend.
Under the Romney-Ryan budget Social Security will be trashed, Medicare will be gone, and Mitt Romney's tax rate will be less than 1 percent, while working people will be paying 20 percent.
To the person who said anybody in their right mind would not vote for President Obama because of him not approving the pipeline from Canada: The oil companies themselves have said that this will not help the price of gas here because 99 percent of that oil is due to be shipped overseas.
To the reader who used half their comment to sorta-praise our WVU Olympic rifleman, and the other half to make some hyperbolic correlation between gun control "nuts" and the rifles used in the event, you dishonor the celebration of this U.S. champion by injecting your partisan (and inaccurate) politics into the gold medal win.
In President Obama's latest ad, he says he plans to reduce the deficit. Gimme a break. One would think that three and one-half years would be enough to at least tackle the deficit. Voters, just ask yourself if you are happy with the condition of our country and satisfied with the path we are now on. If you do this, you will surely vote for a change in our leadership, both presidential and congressional.
It is the West Virginia State Fair, not the Charleston state fair. Last time that I looked at a map, Wheeling and Martinsburg were still in West Virginia. Lewisburg is centrally located for all West Virginians. Why don't you move the Kanawha County Fair to Sutton or Richwood so all of us can enjoy it?
Paul did praise the traditional family. Read Ephesians 5:22-31. Jesus and Paul both supported marriage, but they had a higher calling.
