Ah, religious Republicans. One thinks rape will not result in the victim getting pregnant, and another gets drunk and swims nude where Jesus walked on the water. Are these people nuts or what?

To the person complaining about the State Fair being in the "boonies," I live in those "boonies" and am proud of it.

I remember once when a guy who wanted to be president to prove his worth to his dad was elected. His strong idealistic vice president ran the country while the president rode his exercise bike. I really do not want to see this movie again.

If only there was a way to put many students onto one large vehicle so that parents wouldn't be forced to tie up traffic at Cross Lanes Elementary School every morning and afternoon to drop off or pick up one student at a time.

So after voting for George W. Bush twice, John McCain and a felon for president, West Virginia DINOs want President Obama's help for wind damage. Why? I believe it was Reagan who first said, "Elections have consequences."

Social Security does not need any reformation. It just needs the money taken from the trust fund to be replaced.

Working together, Americans can do anything. The GOP refuses to work with Democrats. Before President Obama was sworn in, the GOP vowed to vote no on all proposals by Democrats. Progress has been stymied.

Voters need to remember that Capito is a yes vote for Paul Ryan's wacky ideas to rob working people of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

The feeble storm response by all of the state's power companies caused by inept management, too few employees, lack of preventative maintenance, and a meager inventory of supplies on hand should prove once and for all that something as essential as electricity should not be managed in an unregulated, deregulated, Wall Street fashion.

Is there anywhere in Teays Valley to take leaves and branches to get rid of?

If Republicans cared about the poor, the least and the last, Christian Democrats would probably switch to their party because most Christian Democrats are against abortion. 

So you "detest having to vote for Manchin?" Then show some spine and don't. Doesn't mean you'll have to vote for a Republican. There'll be others on the ballot.

I think it is long past the time when all sources of income are taxed at the same rates. Stop the special low rates for dividend and certain investment income. I have heard all of the arguments and none make sense. A dollar earned is a dollar earned.

The Democrats will continue using their "GOP will destroy Social Security and Medicare" scare tactics until the programs actually fail. The programs will eventually fail because the Democrats keep pulling funds from them to fund Election Day promises.

Clinton was called "Slick Willy" because he tried to lie his way out of every mess he got himself into. Crumbs on his shirt and icing on his lips, he'd swear to the cameras he didn't eat the cake. The GOP was smart enough to see it. Democrats still think he was greatest politician in history.

The 5 Corners restaurant on Virginia Street is excellent. Turkey, cranberry croissant, spicy potato salad, pastrami sandwich and side salad were out of this world. Recommend them -- they work hard for perfection.
