Will the documentary "2016: Obama's America" be showing anywhere in our area, the Charleston area?
It's not just Romney and the Mormons that think this country has taken separation of the state and church too far, it's a whole lot of other people right in there with him, and I'm one of them. I'm a Democrat, but I'm voting for him.
The only reason the White House don't want that Navy SEAL to publish this book about the death of bin Laden is because, later on, Barack Obama and Joe Biden want to write a book and take credit for doing the killing.
Please, can we get extra police patrol in Cross Lanes? Especially on Beechcrest Drive, Walnut Valley Drive and Russet Drive? Thank you kindly!
Spanish-speaking TV station is just the first step in the takeover, yet you do nothing and write about nothing. When are you people going to wake up and start putting the word out?
To the reader who said snacks should be cut out in Kanawha County Schools [and mentioned] children who "bum" snacks: Did you ever stop to think that maybe those children don't have parents who can afford those snacks? I agree it is the parents' responsibility to provide them, but what if the parents are not responsible people? The children should not have to suffer.
I get so tired of you people putting down people drawing food stamps and not saying a word about corporate welfare. The fossil-fuel industries have received $93 billion in subsidies in the last 10 years and they're not paying any taxes. Mitt Romney paid 13 percent in taxes and I pay 35 percent. Where's the outrage?
Pretty obvious from the editorial of 8/27 why they and all the liberal Democrats want election by popular vote. The lineup of states shown in their article that are in Obama's camp are those that are heavily populated and teeming with large-city welfare masses that are easily controlled by the politicians that "deliver" to their party every election year. The same reasoning applies to their opposition to voter ID.
How are AEP workers going to go south to help with power outages due to Isaac when they can't keep their own power lines in good enough shape to keep the power on?
So Romney suggests college students borrow from their parents to finance their education, thinks that it is "small-minded" of people to want to see more than two years of his income tax returns, and jokes that no one has ever asked to see his or his wife's birth certificate. It's not his wealth that is the problem, but rather his downright arrogance and disregard for the ordinary person.
Rush Limbaugh is urging people to pull their kids out of school at the age of 11 to listen to him. This is why the kids are not learning anything. The parents are not to blame for this. They're teaching them politics.
I really like those Dutch Miller commercials. Those two men just make me laugh. It makes my day, and I like it because they're not real loud.

Why is the state spending money to resurface the 77/79 split when there are various other areas in need of repair such as Institute, Route 25 that is, and the areas of the interstate between South Charleston and Dunbar? It's pitiful. Where is the taxpayer money going?
I agree with the person that wrote in about putting the grocery store up in the East End of Charleston instead of all those restaurants and these parks. I hope the drug dealers will go in there and tear the parks and things down. They should put a grocery store up here.
Why am I not surprised that His Arrogance Danny Jones said that no one approached him about helping keeping the funeral parade going in Charleston? Why didn't he step up and make sure that the funeral parade continued?
I agree with the caller that talked about Appalachian Power's CEO. He's nothing but a buffoon. He is stealing the people's money, and Appalachian Power wouldn't skip a beat if they didn't even have him. What good is he anyway?
The two "Godfather" movies -- our president's all-time favorites. Doesn't that speak volumes to anybody with half a brain?
No one -- repeat, no one -- that voluntarily gives up their job should ever be eligible for unemployment benefits. Those should be reserved for people that were laid off from their jobs. The metal workers chose to strike over being too spoiled than to help pay on the medical insurance like most working Americans have done for years. I have no sympathy for any of them.
Pop quiz: Substitute the word "terrorist" for the word "communist" and tell me the difference between America today and America in the era of McCarthyism.
I will never again attend a Marshall football game. Let the boosters support them.
Good news! Maybe lots of homecomings. If the Ryan-Romney plan for Medicare and Medicaid go through maybe lots of moms and dad will be coming home from rest homes if their bill is paid by either coverage. It'll take a little more of your time and maybe adding a bedroom.
Nobody has asked to see Romney's birth certificate, but how many have asked to see his tax returns? Is he ashamed of being rich or of the questionable math?
Christians want everything to be easy. If someone looks or behaves different, 90 percent of them will avoid that person. If something's hard, 90 percent won't do it. Just like in the secular world. I know. I've been a Christian for 40 years. No wonder our faith isn't growing.
I'm the guy that's son and daughter-in-law's losing their jobs. Why should I pony up and help them when they can draw almost $70,000 free from the government every year?
Kanawha County used to have a good vocational/technical education program until somebody came up with the great idea of taking all the underachieving and unmotivated ninth-graders out of the feeder schools and sending them to the vo-tech. Now the bar is lowered.
