Charleston has been trying to increase their population for years, so why don't they go up the river and annex Marmet, Pratt, East Bank and Handley and all the small towns to increase their quality of life?

Is Oprah Winfrey's network offered locally by any of our cable service? Also, is the "Oprah" show itself shown or offered by any of our cable or TV channels?

I would like to respond to the letter regarding outsourcing. If a person is in a position and that position is outsourced, then that person either loses his job to outsourcing or he can do the same work, generally at less pay and with no benefits.

Raese says he doesn't want to talk at the Chamber's meeting and then cries like a baby when he is not invited. Can't seem to keep his eye on the ball. He would be a real mistake for West Virginia. But they have shown in the past they know that.

I read in Monday's Potpourri column that a Charleston left-wing preacher, Jim Lewis, said that Condoleezza Rice is a war criminal. Is that hate speech?

So for us seniors, it is a question of who do you trust to preserve Social Security and Medicare. If the Republicans get their way, these programs will be cut to preserve huge tax giveaways to the richest Americans. These tax cuts have been going on since Bush was in office and they have created almost no jobs. It's the market that creates jobs, and it's about time all Americans realize that.

The Romneys are trying to portray themselves as regular people when they are worth over $200 million and they're trying to make us think they started out poor when they lived off the sale of his governor father's stock and both attended private schools for the children of wealthy people.
