Charleston has been trying to increase their population for years, so why don't they go up the river and annex Marmet, Pratt, East Bank and Handley and all the small towns to increase their quality of life?
Is Oprah Winfrey's network offered locally by any of our cable service? Also, is the "Oprah" show itself shown or offered by any of our cable or TV channels?
I would like to respond to the letter regarding outsourcing. If a person is in a position and that position is outsourced, then that person either loses his job to outsourcing or he can do the same work, generally at less pay and with no benefits.
Raese says he doesn't want to talk at the Chamber's meeting and then cries like a baby when he is not invited. Can't seem to keep his eye on the ball. He would be a real mistake for West Virginia. But they have shown in the past they know that.
I read in Monday's Potpourri column that a Charleston left-wing preacher, Jim Lewis, said that Condoleezza Rice is a war criminal. Is that hate speech?
So for us seniors, it is a question of who do you trust to preserve Social Security and Medicare. If the Republicans get their way, these programs will be cut to preserve huge tax giveaways to the richest Americans. These tax cuts have been going on since Bush was in office and they have created almost no jobs. It's the market that creates jobs, and it's about time all Americans realize that.
The Romneys are trying to portray themselves as regular people when they are worth over $200 million and they're trying to make us think they started out poor when they lived off the sale of his governor father's stock and both attended private schools for the children of wealthy people.

In response to the person who called in and said how do you justify doing work on Sunday, I justify it because there is no blessing on Sunday. It's the seventh day God blessed, not the first day of the week.
I'd like to thank the very nice mailman at Nitro and another young gentlemen that helped me when I fell in the middle of the street in Nitro.
Seems to me if the state of West Virginia's going to have a cellphone law banning use while you're driving, they need to inform the employees that they're not supposed to be talking while they're in the state cars.
On the news it commented about bin Laden not having or reaching for a weapon when the Navy SEALs killed him. Bin Laden had a weapon; they were airplanes when they blew into the twin towers.
Would you please put the point spread in the paper? It cost me another 75 cents to go get USA Today when you people forget to put the point spreads in the paper.
Assuming you're not a coal company executive, can you name one thing Shelley Moore Capito has done for you?
Please bring our troops and loved ones home from Afghanistan. They only serve as targets there for those people.
I think it's ridiculous to pay Pratt's high-priced water bills and you can't drink the water. You still have to buy bottled water and cook with bottled water.
