During Mitt Romney's debate prep, instead of using Rob Fortman to fill in for Barack Obama, they should use OJ Simpson, since he and Barack Obama are of the same character.

Williard Mitt Romney is uneducated and unwise. When you go to Michigan and say that the trees are the right height, like anybody cares about the trees in Michigan, and then you go to New Hampshire and say you already feel like a president and you might get a better tax cut, how can anybody get a better tax cut than Willard Mitt Romney and the Republican Party?

Did you ever consider that the reason a lot of reporters are pro-Democrat is because they're well-informed?

I see the new breed of welfare riding up and down the road every day during the work hours on a $5,000 to a $10,000 four-wheeler. If they invested that money in 40 to 50 years they would have a nice nest egg and they wouldn't need their welfare or food stamps.

If you look at Paul Ryan, they should recruit him on True Blood. He already looks like a vampire. He just needs the vampire teeth so he can suck the blood out of the middle class.

The reason that old boy don't step up and support his family, he probably don't have the money and then Obama promises him that he would do it anyway, so why should he support them?

It's sad about the trooper. It really is sad, but if you're going to give him honors, do it right. The union of the flag always goes over the left shoulder and the casket is always placed into the [hearse] headfirst. Look at the pictures and tell me what you did wrong.

Democrat Harry Reid arrived in DC many years back with little money to his name and today he's one of the richest men in politics. How does that happen without some backroom deals? What right does he have to question somebody else's finances?

Why is Pete Thaw a member of the Kanawha County Board of Education? The voters of this county must have been nuts when he was elected. He doesn't have any idea what students and teachers today need or want in their schools.

The Town Center Mall should have done a better job of planning. Closing Starbucks at the last minute is not fair to the employees or the customers. I hope Forest [City] Enterprises plans to compensate those who rely on their Starbucks paychecks!

The 'rapid response teams' that both parties employ remind me of third-graders engaged in a never-ending food fight. Our political discourse has sunk to that level.

Under the Affordable Health Care Act, beginning in 2014 we will get health insurance through our state health exchange. This includes members of Congress. That fact alone makes me support the law.

Three cheers for John Palmer's excellent and factual article on the editorial page of the Gazette. Coming from an 82-year-old man who did not use notes or a teleprompter, Clint Eastwood's speech at the convention was amazing and right on the mark. Romney ran for office in Massachusetts for 15 years and said he was for abortion because people in Massachusetts are pro-choice. In 2007, the year he started running for president, he said he was now pro-life and people should ignore what he said before. How convenient.

Bill Clinton and Alec Baldwin are two of the last people I would look to for advice on anything. Nothing they have to say is of any interest to me whatsoever.

I just saw a news story headline that said, "Companies boosted profits without hiring this spring." This is exactly why giving tax breaks to the wealthy doesn't work. They don't hire more workers, they just keep more profit for themselves. And, this story proves that.

So Mitt Romney took a $77,000 tax write off for his wife's show horse. Guess who paid for her to prance around on that horse? Us! We know this from the one tax return he was forced to release. Just think what his other tax returns would reveal.

If the middle class does not have job security and income growth, the economy will not grow strong. That takes a lot of middle-class consumers with cash. Outsourcing, off-shoring, cutting pay, retirement, etc., while lowering taxes on the wealthiest, results in a shrinking middle class.

Are we better off than we were four years ago? Considering the auto and banking industry were ready to collapse, President Obama's stimulus package saved everyone in this country because we would have been in a depression and had a financial collapse that would have affected us all.
