I've been a Democrat for 41 years. But if Barack Obama gets re-elected president, I will be switching to Republican the day after this election.

To the person who said the Romneys started out with very little, both their parents were millionaires. Mitt's dad was governor of Michigan and president of American Motors.  Mitt and his wife both attended private schools and Mitt's wife was the daughter of the owner of a heavy equipment plant.

Obama doesn't like Navy Seals releasing sensitive information. He likes to do it himself.

Willard Mitt Romney said that he wants to keep some parts of Obamacare. When he was seeking the Republican nomination, he said that he would repeal Obamacare. Is this a flip-flop or an Etch-A-Sketch moment?

Romney's dad was a millionaire and his wife's family was well off. Wish I could have started that poor.

What a hoot! The Gazette's Monday editorial about Republican distortion and half-truths comes just a week or so after the Gazette's editorial about Bain Capital that was filled with distortions and half truths and exhibited total ignorance of such organizations. We need to elect Mr. Romney to heal our economy, unite our people and give the Gazette something positive to editorialize about.

Hey coal lovers! What will you do when the nation turns to clean energy and you lose your coal mining jobs anyway and the Republicans take away your Social Security, food stamps and Medicaid/Medicare and your ability to send your kids to college. Coal is not the issue here. It has been on it's way out for quite some time. Think about it. Is it truly worth electing Romney?

If Paul Ryan is the future of the Republican Party, the future looks bright for the Democrat Party.

I'd just like to say the Democrats like to beat themselves on the chests for saving General Motors. Let's not forget that General Motors and GMAC still owe the taxpayers $50 billion, which they will never get. Don't forget that folks.

I read a post by a Republican stating that the economic stimulus was a payback by President Obama to his donors. I don't agree but if it was, it was much cheaper than Dick Cheney's war to allow no-bid contracts for Halliburton to increase the value of his retirement stock portfolio.

Romney turned tax records in to the McCain campaign to be his Vice President. He should be required to turn them over to run for president. Why would we expect less and why does he treat us with less respect? Voters deserve more.

In Sunday's paper, conservative George Will attacks college football as a "blemish" that progressives "helped create." The neo-cons can attack our Social Security, Medicare, unemployment, and black lung benefits, but attacking football is going too far!

When I look at the dire financial conditions in the world, and especially here in the U.S., I feel I am watching the last big party on the Titanic right before it hit the iceberg. It will be an abrupt stop with a lot of casualties.

Instead of the classic line from the 1960s space program where "Failure is not an option," the new Social Security mantra is "Retirement is not an option."
