Everyone in West Virginia should see the movie "2016" before Election Day.
President Obama shouldn't even be close in the polls with his awful record. I can't believe that anyone could get re-elected with his record. Apparently the voters are not paying attention or simply don't care. Or both.
I would like to know why all these scandals and corruption things are coming up since Earl Ray Tomblin took office. We didn't hear none of this, or very little of it under Manchin. So I can't understand this.
Republican Christians were adamantly opposed to Romney in 2008, saying they could never vote for someone who believed Jesus and Satan are brothers and is a high leader of a cult. Now, they are denying those strongly stated beliefs. Seems like a compromise of once-strongly-held beliefs.
I'm voting for Barack Obama because he has kept us safe for the last four years.
Why do we give an anti-American country like Egypt $1.5 billion dollars in foreign aid? Wouldn't that be better spent on our roads and bridges?
I have to question the intelligence of any credit agency that still has the United States rated AAA.
When you take the oath of office like Shelley Moore Capito and the rest of the Republican lawmakers, you swear to protect and uphold the United States, which gives you health care and paychecks. When you pledge allegiance to Grover Norquist and sign his paper, they should remove you from office ASAP.
I buy most of my purses at JC Penney's. They usually have tan linings.

If President Obama thinks he can champion all these unbiblical issues, such as abortion, gay marriage, refusing to honor Jesus Christ -- without evoking a response from God, I fear he is in for a surprise.
If you love your political party more than your country, then go ahead and vote for Obama, who wants to rebuild America from the ground up. But that means he'll have to destroy America first.
I have a son with autism and I think ADA is wonderful as far as the child's academic skills. But I truly believe that they do not teach an autistic child to function in the real world. Any comment?
Since when does the United States have a right to tell Israel what city in their country is their capital? It's none of the United States' business. Leave Israel to say what their capital is.
I am shocked to read that West Virginia is considered a red (Republican) state. For 75 years I have thought we were mostly thoughtful moderates who tend to vote Democratic. I guess that's just the good company I've kept.
Ever since the Vent Line and Readers' Voice began several years ago, people have often commented on Democrats running West Virginia for the last 70 years. Shouldn't they be updating that to 75 or 80 years by now, or does time stand still for these people?
Apparently the only people on this planet who can't get along with each other are the deeply religious. The "My God is better than your God" people, who don't realize they are talking about the same God. Talk about your terminally stupid.
The Gazette editorial on Sept. 12 addressed only the UMWA miners and retirees that are affected by the Patriot Coal bankruptcy. There are hundreds of non-executive salaried employees and retirees' benefits that will be affected by the bankruptcy. ... The Gazette should have addressed all Patriot Coal employees and retirees' promised benefits being in jeopardy, not only the UMWA.
A special thank you to the two women who stopped to help me with my dog on the trail at Kanawha State Forest Monday. He is recovering at home thanks to your generosity.
To the caller who called in about "I'm sure glad the lying festival in Charlotte is about over," I think you were referring to the lying festival in Tampa, weren't you? Tampa is where all the lies were told by the Republicans.
