I'm sure the Romneys don't have a clue about what the reality is for working people. Ann Romney recently said that they were so poor during the time they were students that they had to sell off some stocks!
Republicans worry over the fact that so many people are getting food stamps. Here's the thing: The country spends more money giving huge subsidies to big agribusiness operations not to grow food than is spent on the entire food stamp program.
Anyone out there that can give me any civil tips on how to keep my neighbor's cat from ruining my outdoor furniture? The cat is ruining my new cushions and wicker!
How ironic that the most divisive president in history thinks that he can give advice on the fact that a president must serve everyone. Now that is called speaking out of both sides of your mouth. Obama, you do not serve everyone, only people that share your views. You have clearly shown that you are not interested in listening to other opinions.
It seems that all the gaffes coming from Mitt Romney, almost daily, get very little or no coverage from " fair and balanced" Fox News. Maybe if you just ignore them, they didn't happen.
Two weeks after it's reported unemployment is worse than it was three years ago, Mr. Obama's campaign ads say he's created millions of jobs. This guy lies more than Clinton ever thought about lying.
The judge should be ashamed. The fine and sentence for the Mingo County doctor is a slap in the face of all law-abiding taxpayers.
If the president wins another term we won't have to worry about the economy, everyone will be on welfare and food stamps and the rich will be paying for it.
Charleston Newspapers has stupidly limited comments to Facebook's narcisstic "social butterfly" users, blocking everyone else. While this "cleans up" comments, but not entirely, it is very shortsighted. Do Facebook users represent the height of "elevated" comments the publisher wants -- really and exclusively? This policy prevents a variety of other social media users from participation ... Disqus would be better and is used by WSAZ and many national news organizations.
Ed Rabel's op-ed piece on Sept. 18 was right on target. All Democrats need to stand with the president for the good of all the people of our state and the nation, rather than defecting to the party of those who primarily support the wealthy and powerful.

The State Police are expecting a record year for the number of marijuana plants they eradicate. Boy that makes me feel a lot safer!
If parents would supervise their teenagers, especially when they have friends at their house, tragedies could be avoided. Don't be an absentee parent!
If you've seen the video that was released of Romney admitting he doesn't care about 47 percent of the people in America, this includes most of the people in West Virginia. Everything he is going to do hurts West Virginia working-class and retirees and helps the corporations and the rich, but Shelley Moore Capito does the same thing.
In his Tuesday Gazette column, Ed Rabel claims that a terrible disease is spreading among West Virginia Democrats. He is not willing to admit that President Obama is a flawed president that lacked appropriate experience when he took office and has proven to be unable to govern in an effective manner. Mr. Rabel waits until his last sentence to tell us the cause of our terrible disease: We are racists.
Who are the 47 percent of Americans who don't pay federal income taxes? They are: active duty military, Social Security recipients, disabled Americans, survivors receiving life insurance policy payments and rich Republicans who hide their income in Swiss and Cayman Island bank accounts.
While nearly 47 percent of the country doesn't pay federal income taxes, as Mitt Romney complains, many of these folks do pay payroll, state, and local taxes. What's more, a lot of them are seniors, and most of them would never describe themselves as dependent on government even if they were.
When I think of the Fed I cannot help thinking of a Trojan horse.
Mitt Romney, my God. No matter how much you dislike Obama, this is not a man who should be president of the United States.
Who are the Friends of Coal? Not Willard Romney. Willard had his only elected position as governor of Massachusetts. In 2003 Gov. Romney stated that he opposed a new coal-fired power plant. He said, "I will not create jobs or hold jobs that kill people."
Many thanks to the Kanawha County sheriff's office and especially Deputy Brian Carper, who recovered our stolen four-wheeler on Sept. 18. Your work is appreciated more than you know! Thank you sir!
