Just one question to yesterday's [reader]: Who did you say sent our troops to Afghanistan and Iraq to die? Hey, his name was Bush. You need to quit drinking the Kool-Aid and the tea.
I agree with the reader that said we ought to bring all of the soldiers home now and not in 2014. Let those people over there fight it out right down to the last man. Last one standing should own the property and won't be nothing there for them to rule.
I wish I was the son of one of the county politicians so I could get one of those jobs with John Perdue at the treasurer's office, one of those do-nothing jobs that pays big salaries.
Will someone please tell me why Mayor Danny Jones thinks that the Boulevard is the only place in Charleston to have a car show? It wouldn't be so bad if it was on the weekend when people didn't need that main access to get to their jobs, but not on weekdays. I think it's not only inconsiderate but just selfish to shut down my road that I travel [on] to get to my job where I pay Danny Jones a city user fee.
From education to trees: I wish the board of education would listen to people. Dave Wilkinson wrote a great article in the Gazette-Mail on 9/29/12. As for the trees in St. Albans: It will take 75 years to replace the trees cut down. The least the board can do is plant new trees.
Once again this debate shows a typical politician promising you the moon, with no factual way he can accomplish anything. President Obama presented facts and backed them up while Romney waves his hands and talks over any reasonable fact hoping the American public is stupid or asleep. It really comes down to this: If you want to give your CEO a $250,000 raise and you contribute $7,500 to that raise, vote for Romney.
Romney knocked Obama out of his shoes. Obama needed a lot more than a teleprompter.
Romney was slick during the debate and if you are easily fooled by style over substance, you probably think he won. But that was the "in front of the cameras" Romney. The real Romney is still the guy caught saying he doesn't worry about 47 percent of the country.
In regards to the comment in yesterday's voice concerning racist West Virginians, I have to ask the following question: If it is racist to vote for Romney because Obama is black, is it not also racist to vote for Obama because he is black?
Paul Krugman is one very delusional economist. I guess he has not heard how insane it is to keep doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result. Monopoly money will soon be worth more than the dollar. The entire world is on the verge of a colossal economic meltdown.
I saw the workers at Lowe's handle more lumber in 15 minutes than that trailer loaded out at Eden's Fork turned over. Why does it take so long to clear those little splintered pieces of wood out of the way?
Note to Kroger: Please cook the apples and the peaches in your pies. They are too crunchy and tasteless.
