CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- After watching the presidential debate, I have decided that Romney would win the biggest liar contest at the W.Va. Vandalia Festival and Obama would be a close second. I hate politicians!

If people are actually using political ads to decide who to vote for, then we have far bigger issues than who has the most dishonest ads.

I don't see what the problem is with the CEO of Chick-fil-A standing up for what he thinks is right. After all, when you enjoy that good chicken sandwich, just remember, nature produced it. A rooster and a hen, not two roosters and not two hens.

Sunday's Gazette reports a WVU law student has co-founded West Virginia Paranormal Investigations to check out strange open doors, sounds, shadows, etc. Good to know they don't spend all their time partying!

Yes, Mitt won the debate. What he lacked in intelligence and integrity, he made up for with bully and bluster. He made all the talking heads on FOX proud.

Of course Obama won the debate. I think our President felt like I did. I was in total shock that Romney would once again change his campaign strategy to suit the moment. The president was taken aback for sure. Stunned that Romney would lie to the American people once again. And then get vindictive to say the least.

To set the record straight, the GI bill is very much alive and has never been discontinued. In addition, I was in the Army in the 1970s and paid state and federal taxes.

Remember, we have no national election. We have 50 separate state elections. So, nationwide polls are meaningless, state polls are what is important.

It would be very informative to see who the individuals and groups are that are funding the proposed amendment to remove the two term limits on sheriffs. It stands to reason that they have an interest in promoting corruption by allowing "their" candidates to stay in office and protect them against those of the less financially fortunate.

Maloney wasn't accusing Tomblin of wasting federal stimulus funds to expand broadband, as stated in Phil Kabler's [article], but that he wasted $24 million dollars purchasing Cisco routers at $22,400 each.

Some people think that you are a racist if you don't like Obama. Well, I have not heard one person say that they won't vote for him because he is black. No one has attacked his race. ... Though he entered office with little or no qualifications; he now has a four-year record to go on. The recipe to defeating him is right there in the record.

Politicians keep complaining about the rate of unemployment. The political ads on TV are annoying/disgusting. Just think of how many people who could have a job with all the money being spent by PACs, corporations and wealthy individuals who are trying to influence the elections.

Shelley Bush Capito's Republican leader in Congress wants a hearing on the State Department's security failures. Her same friends voted to cut the State Department's budget for security operations by $331 million. This Republican Congress values politics over security. Vote for Howard Swint to restore sanity in Congress.

If Tomblin would not continually say "in West Virginia" in all of his responses he might have actually gotten something across. We know he is talking about West Virginia unless he plans to run in some other place.

To the "man" who wants all of the other men to tell their wives and daughters how to vote ... We got the right to vote a long time ago and we don't need some jerk to tell us who to vote for. Go Obama!

This Obama is taking over $700 billion from Medicare for "Obamacare" and leaving the seniors out on a limb. I think that we should leave him out on a limb when we go and vote for Mitt Romney.

To the reader who says that West Virginia hillbillies don't cheer for a black man, what about Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.?

"Kool-aid drinker" is easier to say than "non-thinking person who believes anything they hear from news media pushing for one political group by twisting facts into brainwashing propaganda." Half the people who hear the phrase never heard of Jonestown.

Before we sink more tax money into student loans we need to do an audit. How many of the loans are paid back vs. never paid? How many loans are handed out and the "student" never graduates? How many graduate with "just had to have" degrees and never use the education to earn a living?

Only a small part of PBS broadcasts are educational. Largest part of it is programming pushing the liberal agenda and taxpayers shouldn't be paying the bill for it. Romney is correct in saying it's time to pull the plug. Obama looks foolish making a joke out of it.

Who is going to do what is right for America? Obama, who has brought us back from a deep Republican recession. Obama, who told us the truth about what he would do if elected. Obama, who is going to make the rich pay their fair share of taxes so we don't pay it. Obama won.

How long before colleges and universities face reality and start cutting costs?  The days of passing along large increases year after year has to come to an end. They are not too big to fail and are on the verge of pricing themselves out of reach of prospective students. Drastic changes are needed.

Description of Fox News: Much ado about nothing.

It looks to me that Forren Soil is making a lot of money from "redesigning" Davis Park. What gives with the "invitation-only" garden club fundraiser? The park is for the public. The public should have a say in how the money is spent.

The GOP seems to be preoccupied with war. They have invented terms such as class warfare, war on religion, war on guns, war on coal, war on Christmas, etc. Now their great candidate, Willard Romney, wants to re-ignite the Cold War with Russia and start a couple more wars in the Middle East. If this chicken hawk is elected, we are in big trouble.

When Gazette reporters, and journalists go after Mitt's flip-flop hypocrisy, and prevarications, they must feel like mosquitoes in a nudist colony.

I voted for Obama but I'll never make that mistake again.

You don't like something Mitt said today, just be patient, he'll change it tomorrow.

Stop. Look at what big business has been doing to our country for the last 30 years. Outsourcing -- no return. We certainly don't need someone that has a record of ruthless business practices in our government influencing tax codes and trade policies. In West Virginia don't we call that "the fox guarding the hen house."

Hang up and drive.  It's the law.

If Obama gets re-elected, expect him to declare he has received yet another mandate to do whatever he pleases. This will permit him (among other things) to appoint more czars at much higher salaries than before.
