The folks complaining about the power company need to do me a favor: Pack a suitcase, move into a crappy hotel 300 miles from home, then get up and work 60 hours a week in the freezing rain. You folks could not even carry their coffee cups. I am not a lineman, but they are faced with a monumental task. Show some appreciation.

To put a positive spin on the folks still without power, the one plus is you are not subject to numerous political ads and political phone calls. Thanks to all the folks working on restoring power, getting the Internet back up and traffic cops aiding safe travel.

Republicans are attacking our attorney general, Darrell McGraw, for refusing to block our U.S government from enforcing federal law. Do they want another Civil War?

Congress is responsible for passing all appropriation bills. That makes them responsible for our budget deficit. It is time they learned to say "no" and actually mean it.  There will be much weeping and wailing when the sacred cows are slaughtered, but nothing less than the future of our country is at stake.

Looks like the power company could move a little more in that direction.

I watched a very offensive video talking about birth control using children. One has old people using very offensive language against Romney. I'm a Democrat, but I am very disappointed in my party for promoting this kind of garbage. I will vote Republican. Who wants a president who would endorse this garbage?

I accidentally turned my radio on and Rush Limbaugh was on. What a pig.

I'm sure Mitt Romney will create 12 million jobs. The only problem is they will all be in China.

John Raese has shown total disrespect for our sitting president by referring to Romney as president in his campaign advertisement. If he can't campaign on his own merit do not vote for him. Joe Manchin can't decide what party he represents so leave this one blank. Neither candidate is worthy of a vote.

Each time I watch the Obama ad that tells what all he is going to do in his next term and he says reduce the deficit, I simply look at the deficit for the last four years and realize this man should be on Saturday morning cartoons.

Once upon a time, I too wished that only the popular vote would elect presidents. But after taking the time to learn about the system and how it works along with the pros and cons of a purely popular vote; I decided that if we ever go to a popular vote small states would have even less say in who wins than we do now. 

[To] reduce disaster costs and loss of life: no more construction of any kind on beachfront property, have a wide swath of trees cut along power lines, not just a narrow alley for visual inspection. If wild weather is the new normal, we need to address prevention ... not just cleanup and survival.

Have you noticed very few if any Democrat running for office has his or her political party listed in their ads? Are they afraid they will lose votes if people actually realize they're in the same party as Obama?

For four years, Obama has thumbed his nose at the American people. Two weeks before the election, he flies over the disaster areas and makes some "I promise" speeches and the kool-aid drinkers think he's the greatest person on earth.

Mistruths abound as the GOP find themselves losing badly in the polls. People are becoming educated to the scare tactics, fear mongering, gross false statements and outrageously lying statements not becoming any representative of honorable government.

Mitt Romney walks like he has a loaded diaper. I believe he does, especially after lying to the people of Ohio about Jeep production. If he lies in Ohio he will lie anywhere.

Europe is suffering the austerity syndrome while our GOP votes to bring it here. The only ones that would not suffer are the very wealthy, which makes it easy for the GOP to choose that route. We are doing OK with Obama but it is imperative that we vote out Republicans stopping any progress.

Any candidate who promises to dismantle Facebook and Twitter has my vote.

Recovery from Sandy would go a lot smoother if we could just get all of the grandstanding politicians out of the way.

Why is it always the same places that lose power in Kanawha County? It would make sense to bury the lines where trees are prevalent. Eight days during the derecho and now seven at least for this storm!

To the Ethics Commission, the mayor of Pratt and his family are using one of the town's police cars for their personal use and the citizens of Pratt are paying for the gas.

Mitt Romney promised that one of his first acts in office would be to repeal the Affordable Care Act. When he does, coal miners will lose access to their federal black lung benefits.

How can they even consider having Halloween? I have no electricity. I live alone. I do not need another aggravation. I am scared enough. Cancel Halloween. This is a no-brainer.
