For heaven's sakes, what was the board thinking last night to call homes after 11 p.m. and say that there would be school [the next day]. They are so childish.

I have been reading all the negative remarks about AEP workers. These men go in all kinds of weather to restore power so you can be comfortable. Sure, trees are falling on power lines and need to be cut back, but this is not the only reason power goes out, so instead of putting the blame on these workers, try to give an encouraging word. It not only helps them but might make you feel better.

I've been trying to get this on the Readers' Voice for probably a month, but nobody ever responds. Where is the handicap parking for Nitro's VFW flag memorial? They've got two signs there, but cars are always there and it's locked, you can't get in. Also, where is Nitro's VFW? Could someone please answer those questions?

To the guy whose brother was shot down over Vietnam and says he has more credentials than Romney: Remember John McCain was a war hero, was also shot down over Vietnam, had way more credentials than Obama, but still you people voted for Obama, and now we're in trouble.

It doesn't matter who the president is, but I was just wondering why do they campaign using Air Force One? If they collect millions and billions of dollars for their campaign, why do I have to support their travels by Air Force One? It doesn't matter who's the president. I think that ought to stop.

The latest jobs report indicated more jobs had been added to the economy than expected, which is wonderful, but you know that Romney and the Republicans looked at that report and were disappointed in the good news for our country.

We didn't lose our power but have been without Suddenlink cable service for over three days now and they do not answer their phones. This affects our home phone service as well as Internet, so it's not about missing TV shows. If they don't fix it soon, they should not expect us to pay our bills in full either.
