CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- I am a Democrat and I am sticking with my party, but only with President Obama. You so-called Democrats that don't back your president don't get my vote. I left your block unchecked. He is and will be a great leader. So when he wins, don't ask him for anything. Remember you were too afraid to back him. Remember the convention.

This election has to come to an end soon. My patience and my mute button are nearly worn out.

I've heard it all now. Republican Paul Ryan stopped by a soup kitchen that had already closed, put on an apron and washed some clean dishes so he could get his picture in the media doing it.

No sense getting upset over losing power during storms. If Obama gets re-elected we won't be able to afford having power?

Praise the Lord and Pass the Lies. That seems to be the theory of a so-called Christian group that is passing out a pamphlet titled "America's Most Biblically Hostile U.S. President." This document is filled with more than 50 lies, fabrications and innuendos about President Obama and is an affront to any true Christian. Please check the contents of this document against any of the truth-finding services on the Internet.

Please remember Sen. Byrd is gone. A vote for Romney is a kiss of death for our very small piece of the federal pie. Think about what good things will happen if we are smart enough to give our electoral votes to President Obama, as we did President Kennedy. Please consider it. This is very important.

I can certainly understand the little girl crying because of political commercials. They make adults cry, too.

To all you who are complaining about the power: Why don't you go out on a cold night and help them move trees and string cable? No, you're too lazy all you want to do is sit back and cry. Maybe that is why you are at the end of the list.

How about a column with suggestions, recommendations, or opinions about how to turn our country around? ... No complaints. No criticisms. No crying. Offering positive thoughts on ways to improve our situations and only ways to rethink or rebuild. A small example: Two years ago I purchased work T-shirts for my employees. Nothing fancy, but made in America! They cost a few cents more, but it was a small contribution to our own. ... How about it, Charleston Newspapers? Enough negativity!!!

Have the people calling for burying power lines and cutting back trees ever been outside their homes? Do they not realize how many lines crisscross our landscape? The tree cutting would look worse than any strip mine. The burying operation would take decades to accomplish, plus we'd be paying higher fees for the added work.

Please do not buy puppies and kittens from breeders. Go to shelter! Save a life!

Hey, local news outlets: how about a little coverage of WVU Tech's men's soccer team, which won 10-0 in the quarterfinals of the NSCAA National Tournament? These young men come from a financially strapped school with no home field and yet are competing on a national level. Maybe a small line or two in the local paper would be nice?

While I disagree with their philosophies and positions on just about everything, I understand how some folks could rationalize voting for Manchin, Tomblin, McGraw, and even Obama. What I find appalling and absolutely beyond explanation is how anyone could be persuaded to vote for Rahall, Tennant, Perdue, or Helmick given their sheer incompetence and contempt for the people.

Politicians love to proclaim they will fight against cuts to any government program.  It's a shame they aren't as willing to fight to make sure enough revenue is collected to pay for them all. Only in Washington is there such a disconnect between revenues and expenses.  The days of this "have it all, pay for half of it" philosophy are about over.

The Internet has been flooded with lies and distortions about our president and people need to be aware of the need to check these for accuracy before making decisions about the election. Sadly, most of these are propagated by people who claim to be Christians and who are willing to do anything to defeat President Obama.  Evidently, they believe the end justifies the means and a few lies will not hurt if it works.
