The pendulum of American politics, which had been swinging to the right, is now swinging back to the left. Conservative is now becoming a dirty word, and liberal a more favored term.

Dear WesBanco, closing the South Charleston branch was bad enough, but shutting down the ATM is completely inconvenient! How much effort would it take to at least leave the ATM operational? Now your customers have to ride to another branch or incur fees to get their money.

I read in Readers' Voice today that the Salvation Army bell ringers get $10 per hour. Is this true? Please let us know how this works.

If you want to know if the Republican Party cares about America, just watch what happens now. If they work with the re-elected president to solve the problems we face as a nation, then they care about all of us. If they launch impeachment proceedings or committee hearings against the president then they care only about the rich, who finance their campaigns and will be willing to destroy America to defeat President Obama.

I had to laugh when Obama said during the campaign that the rich had to "pay a little more" in taxes. The inconvenient truth that neither he nor anyone else will say is that taxes must go up for everyone -- a lot! The deficit we have cannot and will not be closed in any significant way until everyone realizes it. There are no painless ways to get there.

Please be nice to the nutty right-wing Tea Party. They are doing more to defeat Republican candidates than anybody I know.

The DOW dropped after Obama won! Looks like fat-cat Republicans had inside info on stocks that were going to benefit from a Romney win. Now they have to dump those stocks.

Wow. Despite the ignorance often on display here, I don't recall seeing much, if any, outright racism -- until today. "Integration gave us Obama?" Hispanics will "take over in 2035?" You're the reason your party lost the election.

So you "say again that 51 percent is in no way a mandate?" Funny <t40>...<t$> when your guy beat John Kerry in 2004 by gaining only 50 percent of the vote, he declared he had a mandate and I don't recall his fellow Republicans warning him that his slim margin did not a mandate make. Y'all are such hypocrites.

Before fussing about Republicans blocking Democrats in Congress, maybe you should do some research and see why they're blocking them. The Dems want to continue spending money we don't have. The GOP wants to cut spending. Now which makes the most sense?
