To East Carolina, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Hopefully there will be many more thank yous to come. It just doesn't get any better than this.

Under the heading "Rats deserting sinking ship" the number of Republicans deserting the "no tax increase" pledge to Grover Norquist (whom I consider the emperor with no clothes, as he has no real power) is increasing. It appears the GOP sees the handwriting on the wall concerning future elections.

What a dog fight the 2014 election is going to be. A rich Democrat against a Republican puppet. I go for the rich Democrat.

All you hypocrite Christians can quit crying about the legalization of marijuana as you sit and puff on your cigarettes. You are hooked on the most addictive drug ever conceived and the most deadly. Worst of all, it's legal. Tobacco has killed far more people than alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, crack, PCP, meth, LSD and all the other recreational drugs combined. So, when your killer drug, tobacco, is illegal then you can preach to the rest of us about our drugs.

The WVU basketball team plays like it practices.

I thought President Obama smashed Republican dreams to turn America into a tea party/neocon nation. However, their fear factory is now telling us that America is doomed if we ask the rich to pay fair taxes!

Interesting performance at the interim legislative meeting, Mr. Linger. You want to "be careful" and "think through" the audit's recommendations? Want to avoid "knee-jerk reactions?" You've had the audit in hand for a year. How long do you need to think it through? Two years? Three? On what planet is that "bold leadership?"

Is there anybody that can show the Tudor's in Oak Hill and Fayetteville how to fix sausage for a sausage biscuit and not burn it?

Where can one purchase an official West Virginia 2013 Sesquicentennial Calendar to give as Christmas presents?

Year-round schools will only work in West Virginia when all school buildings are properly air-conditioned. We now have another example of our out-of-touch-with-reality state Board of Education advocating year-round schools without air-conditioned buildings to support year-round schools. Another example of why we need an elected state Board of Education.

Hey neighbor, how many people do you know who are drawing disability that could be productive in the workforce? When the lawyers can advertise as specialists in being able to get you on disability, there is something wrong. A large part of disability recipients are very good golfers, and I am paying their greens fees. So are you, taxpayer.

Arts teachers need to shut up about Dr. Marple. She played you like a violin. She was wonderful at saying the right things, writing lots of op-ed pieces and visiting counties. Did anything substantial happen? Any new legislation to provide support for the arts? No. Actions speak louder than words, and you fell for her ploys.

Ten people who say nothing of value and should always be ignored: Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Nancy Pelosi, Eric Cantor, Chris Matthews, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Lindsey Graham and Harry Reid.

Now that WVU has dropped Marshall and picked up "national powerhouse" William and Mary, which will give them more prestige, how many millions of dollars will WVU send to Virginia's economy to pay for W&M to come to Morgantown and lose? That money could be staying in the state's economy if WVU had kept Marshall on the schedule.
