During the Republican presidency of either Bush, I don't recall any miraculous plan to end public assistance. Any future candidate for Congress who supports eliminating public assistance is doomed from the onset because plenty of Republicans are on public assistance.

Cousin Mark Manchin, who also ran when Jorea Marple was appointed, is the state superintendent-in-waiting. Someone else may need to be named for an interim period.

If anybody would look at Shelley Moore Capito's voting record before they voted, she would be lucky to get 10 votes. She has never voted for anything that will help the retired or working class West Virginians. It is all about corporations and the rich.

As the probe of Massey Energy's handling of operations at the Upper Big Branch mine, resulting in the deaths of 29 miners, widens, we will see that these type of "Friends of Coal" mines, all non-union, put the lives of miners up against profits.

Do not forget: Representative Capito voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Act, endorsed the legitimate rape definition and supported the Ryan budget, which would destroy Medicare and Social Security.

There's simply nothing to do but laugh at the people who are counting on Congress to make their future secure.
