Perhaps Linger should "linger" no longer!

I just heard that Shelley Capito is running against Rocky for U.S. senator. You just made my day! Thank you! I've been wanting to vote against her all of my life. Now I can. Happy days are here again.

Now the Town Center Mall finished the remodeling inside. They got rid of the classy red-brick floor and replaced it with cheap tile and cheaper carpet. They also got rid of the live plants, replacing them with lifeless artificial plants. And the fountain? The once-magnificent fountain is gone forever. I have seen drinking fountains shoot water higher than this thing.

President Obama submits a plan to avert the "fiscal cliff" and the GOP scoffs and refuses to consider it. But they submit no plan. None. Nada. Zip. How can we reach a compromise on a plan if there is no alternative plan? Put up, GOP, or be further relegated to the trashcan of history.

The only way for Linger to truly apologize to West Virginians is to resign. Didn't he take an ethics class in college? Apparently he flunked.

I would love to trade the neighbors on each side of me for a lesbian or a gay couple. They have pride in ownership. They don't believe in fighting chickens or cruelty to animals. They treat their children well. I just don't understand the conflict.

To all of the [readers] who keep saying things like God gave us warnings about electing Obama with events like Sandy, well it seems to me like Obama was elected with God's blessing. If God truly didn't want Obama re-elected, he would have prevented it, not sent a storm to kill innocent people and destroy homes and businesses.

I don't know who writes these racist Gazette editorials, but whoever the person is certainly a bigoted racist. They hate white Christian men. It's rather sad.

Judge Watkins should be removed from office immediately and never allowed to be a judge again. The ones who filed complaints against him are only the tip of a large iceberg. I too was threatened with jail if I didn't go along with an unfair settlement. Not to mention the cursing and yelling that went on for quite some time. He simply is unfit to be a judge.

Let me add ECU to the list of teams the Marshall fan was thankful for. This ECU team has enabled Marshall and its fans to keep their often-used theme song at this season of the year, which is "I'll Be Home For Christmas."

I'm sure we do not feel that Gen. Petraeus should resign his job over his affair when we overlooked several of our presidents while they had affairs, [such as] Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, Jack Kennedy and Bill Clinton to name a few, and I'm sure there were others, and we certainly need Gen. Petraeus while these wars are going on.

So John McCain, who picked Sarah Palin as his vice presidential candidate, feels qualified to determine whether Susan Rice should be secretary of state. Now that's funny.

The Bible is a "manual"? For what? Justifying hatred? Misogyny? Murder? Slavery? Polygamy? Incest? Hypocrisy? Please explain how the Bible is a manual.

Congress doesn't negotiate with campaign rallies, photo-ops, Twitter feeds or Facebook posts. It only does it the old-fashioned way: face to face.

Yes, by all means, we should elect the state Board of Education. That would build name recognition for those folks, would create more of these do-nothing lifetime politicians feeding at the trough, and would feed the Democratic machine that has served this state so well for over 80 years.

Why does President Obama still waste his time and energy trying to work with House Republicans, who clearly want our nation to down the tubes? Surely there are other alternatives to save our country!

I think President Obama should change his name to Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. so that he would be voted for and supported in the state of West Virginia.
