CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Why all the drama in Washington, D.C.? Here's the solution to balancing the federal budget: Raise revenue and cut spending until a balanced budget is achieved. If the so-called middle class is going to be left out of the formula to avoid the cliff, then other revenue sources will be required. ... Lock the leaders up and don't let them out until they hammer out a balanced budget.

One of the reasons that the youth of our country are having trouble finding jobs is because the senior citizens are forced to work longer than they had expected. With fewer people retiring, fewer jobs open up. And the continual rise in retirement age only makes this worse.

Shelley Moore Capito is more loyal to Grover Norquist than she is to the citizens of West Virginia. Remember this when she runs for the U.S. Senate.

Right is right. The taxpayers hope the newspapers and reporters do not stop digging and reporting the truth about the state Board of Education and it's members profiting from their no-bid contracts which is the root cause for firing Jorea Marple. The only thing that creates jobs is the demand for products and services. So if you give $2,000 to the middle class they will spend it, thus creating jobs, but if you give $250,000 to the wealthiest people they will put it in a foreign bank account, thus not creating jobs.

Finally, Kanawha County now has their own version of Boone County's "Wild and Wonderful Whites" after watching "Buckwild" on an MTV preview. I am sure that the citizens of Kanawha County will be so proud and will salute this series along with great accolades.

The statement recently made that "Obama knows what he is doing" is absolutely correct. The questions that I would pose are this: does the majority of the people know "what he is doing" and are they prepared for the "results" of what he is doing? Be careful what you ask for. You just might get it.

I am not surprised by the number of accidents near the Buffalo bridge. The Gazette needs to interview the engineer who designed that roadway and ask, "What were you thinking?"

So, the Bible says: "take care of the poor and unfortunate." But I don't think that means or includes the lazy, freeloaders, drunks and druggies.

Do I get my son's kindergarten teacher and classroom aide exactly the same thing or spend more on the teacher? Someone reply and let me know.
