CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Why all the drama in Washington, D.C.? Here's the solution to balancing the federal budget: Raise revenue and cut spending until a balanced budget is achieved. If the so-called middle class is going to be left out of the formula to avoid the cliff, then other revenue sources will be required. ... Lock the leaders up and don't let them out until they hammer out a balanced budget.
One of the reasons that the youth of our country are having trouble finding jobs is because the senior citizens are forced to work longer than they had expected. With fewer people retiring, fewer jobs open up. And the continual rise in retirement age only makes this worse.
Shelley Moore Capito is more loyal to Grover Norquist than she is to the citizens of West Virginia. Remember this when she runs for the U.S. Senate.
Right is right. The taxpayers hope the newspapers and reporters do not stop digging and reporting the truth about the state Board of Education and it's members profiting from their no-bid contracts which is the root cause for firing Jorea Marple. So far we have not seen anyone come forward to hold the [board] accountable for their actions. Are they above the law?
The only thing that creates jobs is the demand for products and services. So if you give $2,000 to the middle class they will spend it, thus creating jobs, but if you give $250,000 to the wealthiest people they will put it in a foreign bank account, thus not creating jobs.
Finally, Kanawha County now has their own version of Boone County's "Wild and Wonderful Whites" after watching "Buckwild" on an MTV preview. I am sure that the citizens of Kanawha County will be so proud and will salute this series along with great accolades.
The statement recently made that "Obama knows what he is doing" is absolutely correct. The questions that I would pose are this: does the majority of the people know "what he is doing" and are they prepared for the "results" of what he is doing? Be careful what you ask for. You just might get it.
I am not surprised by the number of accidents near the Buffalo bridge. The Gazette needs to interview the engineer who designed that roadway and ask, "What were you thinking?"
So, the Bible says: "take care of the poor and unfortunate." But I don't think that means or includes the lazy, freeloaders, drunks and druggies.
Do I get my son's kindergarten teacher and classroom aide exactly the same thing or spend more on the teacher? Someone reply and let me know.

It looks like the Republicans in Congress have forgotten the whipping their candidates took after they after they "closed the government" several years ago. They really are out of touch with ordinary Americans.
I don't know what scares me the most: An inexperienced president running our nation into the ground or the fact that half of the population thinks he's doing a good job.
God allows things to happen, but it's not always His will. I wonder how many Obama supporters will be rejoicing in four more years? With the debt we have and [the] lack of morals, our country is going downhill quickly.
Last week when the temperatures were really cold Riverside High School did not have heat again. It was 50 degrees in my child's classroom. They have a service company there almost daily on our tax dollar, yet the problem still remains. It's been that way for years and never gets fixed and our children are suffering.
Kay Goodwin has too many political entanglements to be a watchdog for the Department of Education. Why appoint a lapdog for the Manchins for this? This whole educational audit now appears suspect.
I guess the nation is having a belly laugh as well since the Democrats knew that the President of the United States, not "Obama," knows what he is doing. Anyone who addresses our commander in chief as "Obama" is lacking sense and is socially unacceptable. Move to another country!
Shelley Moore Capito has learned nothing from what happened to Bob Wise when he gave up that congressional seat. Maybe she wants to follow him into oblivion.
If Obama doesn't know what he is doing, how come he beats the Republicans every time?
