Please tell the Republicans that trickle down doesn't work. Their presidential candidate made $12 million last year and did not create one job.

West Virginia is regressing back to the last century. Coal mines bypass the sludge ponds under the cover of darkness when it rains. Factories and plants can't pump out the black smoke at night quick enough. ... And now the recycling center in the capital city of cancer valley sends you home with all your recycled items. Why even try?

That Florida orange juice TV commercial is insane. I turn off the tube every time it comes on. I don't need that to tell me to drink orange juice. We still drink orange juice.

It's 5 o'clock and I had to get off the Cross Lanes exit out of necessity, and my only question is why in the world would anyone want to live in this place when you get to go 1/100th of a mile an hour to go home for three miles. It's just ridiculous.

Republicans want to close loopholes to fix the budget. I am so poor I can't afford a loophole. Most West Virginians can't afford a loophole and yet they vote Republican. Go figure.

Educated, competent working women have received the following message from the state Board of Education: "It does not matter if you are intelligent, dedicated, have received good ratings, have received a doctorate and are basically doing a good job." This message is especially disturbing to any young woman contemplating the time and expense involved in obtaining an advanced degree.

The short article about Armstrong Hardwood in Friday's Gazette is quite telling of the Gazette's attitude toward business. In the article the politicians are quoted, of course, and the union bosses are also quoted, of course. But no mention by name of anyone who is actually responsible for the success of Armstrong Hardwood.
