CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- I am sure the people, producers and everything of "Buckwild" would like to thank the politicians and the higher officials of West Virginia for all the free publicity. I, for one, was not going to watch the show until I read all these negative comments. Now I think it's going to be a blockbuster so naturally I'm going to watch.

In light of the terrible tragedy in Newtown, Conn., it is high time that this country looked at the culture of violence that exists today. The violently graphic video games, movies and TV shows have made people both young and old desensitized to the reality of death, injury and pain. Until this issue is addressed, nothing is going to improve in America.

The average American needs to ask Republicans why they continue this fight to prevent raising taxes on the rich. It's a no-win situation for them. The old argument of "trickle down" does not work and has been proven over the past 12 years.

People who depend on entitlements are Republicans; they are entitled to special tax breaks, loopholes, and most of the money.

I hope gun supporters are not going to deny that we have a national problem with the supply of assault weapons that belong on a battlefield and not on our streets. Please don't use the line "If you ban these we go down a slippery slope". I'm tired of the excuse.

If a news network gets high ratings numbers, then they're doing it wrong. They're telling you what you want to hear rather than telling you the truth. Everyone knows the truth hurts and that will never get good ratings.

U.S. Senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte have been on the TV for weeks condemning the murder of four Americans in Libya. Where are they now, don't they care about 6- and 7-year-old children murdered in the USA?  Maybe its because the NRA bribes them with blood money.

Allowing 'the largest tax increase in history' to take place is exactly the strong medicine this country needs. It will be a big step forward in putting our fiscal house back in order. Continuing to have a trillion dollars more government than we pay for every year is Russian roulette and a quick path to ruin.

To the people commenting on the Marple fiasco, as well as the purchase and placement of statewide computer servers designated for educational purposes, it is crystal clear that our Governor has chosen to ignore these issues. We as citizens need to contact our state and federal representatives and demand they address these problems. Our tax dollars are being misused.

I am here to tell you, it is to late to do a lot about the guns. I am sure you would not make a dent in the danger if you stopped selling all guns this minute. We need to stop the killers from getting into the schools, and other places killers like to go. I would not care one little bit if my taxes were raised to put two police officers in every school with any thing they need to save our kids.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration is not for the health and safety of the miner no more, it's all for screwing the mine operator.

There is dumb, and then there is conservative dumb. Conservative dumb is when you vote against your own best interests simply because you have been told the other candidate is a socialist, communist, is for gun control, or weak on defense. The conservative dumb do not check out whether these buzz words are true, they just accept the word of their masters and vote accordingly.

How much of taxpayers' money was spent on the eight Christmas trees and other excessive expensive decorations in the lobby of the new million-dollar offices of the Logan County Commission?

I'm kinda wondering what's wrong with our Senator Joe Manchin flip-flopping on the gun law deal. As an outdoorsman and a hunter he ought to know that weapon don't do a thing until you pull the trigger and then nothing else happens until the bullet hits what you're aiming at. It's not the guns that kill. It's the people. They need to get that in their heads.
