I can't figure out who I have the most contempt for right now -- the NRA, Grover Norquist or pandering hypocritical politicians of both parties.

The NRA wants to put armed guards in every school so this could turn into a gunfight that will harm a lot more students. The politician that votes for this should be kicked out of Congress for failure to do their jobs. If these gun nuts want military assault weapons, put them in the military.

It looks like the gridlock in Congress is finally going to produce something positive --cuts in spending, higher taxes for all, and a budget that is only $500 billion short on revenue instead of the current $1 trillion shortage, at least temporarily.

The reason U.S senators John Mccain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte have not condemned the mass murder of 6- and 7-year-old children is because the NRA has not given them their talking points yet. John McCain likes to claim that he is a war hero, but he is nothing more than a paper tiger.

At lunchtime the firefighters park the fire trucks along the street across from the Charleston Town Center mall, where nobody should be parking. What a shame they have to harass citizens by begging for money.

Sandy Hook is a tragedy caused by violent video games and TV, plus medication. It is not the fault of guns.

In 1963 it became illegal for the students to stand in the morning and recite the Lord's Prayer. From then on, gradually, we have taken God out everything in the schools. Before 1963, there were no school shootings. Go figure.

Guns controls our freedom. Without guns we have no freedom.

Instead of buying my wife a Snuggy for Christmas I bought her a bathrobe and I told her she can wear it backwards, plus it has a belt to hold it on and it won't slide off her arms.

Gun control does not apply to criminals or outlaws.

I've called Child Advocates about a child in great need of help. When I call you get recordings and of course they're off the whole week of Christmas next week, with pay. Isn't this a wonderful organization we have?

Newspaper carriers, when you get up in the middle of the night and it's pouring down rain, you load your car and deliver the papers, why do you put them in a puddle of water when there is a porch available. The paper is unreadable once they're wet.
