Why is it that something always has to happen, like the shootings in Newtown, Conn., at Sandy Hook School, before something is done about tighter gun control? It's evident that it has to happen now, especially making it harder for people to get assault weapons and multiple magazines.

I'm a widow living in a singlewide mobile home. My electric bill has been $87 a month. I just received my electric bill and it was $208. How can the electric company cheat me so bad?

I'm a Democrat and I've been outspoken against many of the things that Sen. Joe Manchin has done lately. But I would like to thank him for being bold enough to stand up and take a stand on the gun safety situation.

We have taken God out of everything and we're trying to take Christian out of Christmas. I thought we could maybe bring him back again and get him going again in schools and churches. A lot of this stuff would stop -- massacres, droughts, and fires and things going on. But it's too late now. He's done started his wrath on the people. He's not going to quit.

I see where Joe Manchin is getting his face in the news so he can run for president in 2016. So far his platform is "anti-Buckwild" and an attempted stand against gun control.

New York City Mayor Bloomberg seems to think the president can circumvent the Congress and repeal the Second Amendment by an executive order.

I am past 70, and each time I hear of the death of any child regardless of the cause, I shed tears. But when I hear our deadbeat politician get on the bandwagon to pass more gun laws, I feel like I am listening to the doctor who tells me to take two aspirins and call in the morning. When we adults begin to take notice of our everyday lives and how we act, then and only then will our children really be living in a safe and loving environment.
