The law says felons can't possess guns. Two firefighters dead, two in the hospital. Gun laws are real effective.

Bring back visible gun holsters and gun racks in pickup trucks. When the bad guys realize they're outgunned they'll quit terrorizing the law-abiding innocents. Who would try to rob a convenience store when they know there's a customer in there with a gun? That kind of gun control would work.

I agree that people kill people, but if people didn't have assault weapons they couldn't kill as many people.

As a citizen, I would not want this current, appointed West Virginia Board of Education to make decisions about requiring teachers and principals, janitors, bus drivers or cooks to carry guns in our schools. We need an elected state Board of Education before we implement the proposed, soon-to-be-required NRA policy.

Maybe, just maybe, if they did away with all of those silly conference and enhancement days during the school year, and actually had the children in class rather than a day off for no good reason, then the children would not have to start school in early August. Just look at all of the wasted days on the calendar. It is silly.

Bad News: The plan to instruct teachers about how to use guns has failed to gain legislative support. They want the teachers instructed on how to use books first.

I think it would be beneficial and cost effective if healthy and able welfare recipients and prisoners give back by providing manpower for community service programs and projects. We have so much need and with funding for programs and workers being cut, why not make use of those recipients who should be working for their food and housing, just like those of us who are hardworking taxpayers.
