CHARLESTON, W.Va. --  For those of you so down on AEP and getting electric restored. I have been waiting more than two months to get a new light bulb in a streetlight. If they can't change a light bulb how they do anything else?

I read in the Gazette about two of the state BOE [members] resigning over the Marple brouhaha.

Whenever the Gazette refuses to give hunters and sportsmen a voice in the current anti-gun hysteria it drives them to join the NRA.

Shelley Capito and her Republican friends talk about how reinstating the income-tax rates that existed under President Clinton will destroy jobs. If you check the record, there were more jobs created and the economy was better than at any time since. Under G.W. Bush and his boss Tricky Dick, the economy tanked and we watched the stock market lose 40 percent of its value. ... Ask Shelly the true reason that she opposes these tax rates.

After issuing an executive order giving Congress and federal workers pay raises, Obama goes on NBC and says it's the GOP that's messing up the budget negotiations. The guy is unbelievable and his supporters don't see a thing wrong with what he does or says.

All the talk about turning schools into armed fortresses but not a word has been said about the time students spend on school buses or at ballgames. If a nutcase decides to do the unthinkable, he'll find a way to do it.

I am a senior and I have hunted since I was a young boy. I own many guns, shotguns, high-powered rifles, and handguns. None of these will fire more than six times without re-loading. Perhaps some of you NRA nuts can explain to me why any clip that holds more than five rounds should be legal?

Webster's Dictionary gives the definition of bipartisan as two separate parties. Our wonderful congressional leaders have assured us this is a true definition of the word. Their adhesion to party lines as opposed to solving problems tells us it will be forever this way.  Heavens, if my job had no more of an approval rating than the House and Senate, I would not be able to sleep at night. They evidently have no such problem.

A few years back the big money donors to WVU, upset with the hiring of Bill Stewart, threatened to cut donations if changes weren't made. Changes were made and now we're being embarrassed every week on national TV. Why aren't the big donors saying anything now?

Hypocrites. Same people quoting the Constitution to defend Piers Morgan's freedom of speech are ignoring the very same Constitution that gives me the right to bear arms.

Thank God the Christmas season is over at the malls. All those women and children.  All the screaming and crying: I want this! I want that!

You pay $20 million to escape the inferior Big East. Your record is 7-6 in your first year in the Big 12. You have to play in a snowstorm in your bowl game and get blown out by a team from the Big East. ... Priceless.

America has been living an economic lie for quite some time. When the truth hits us between the eyes it will be a shock to our feeling of entitlement and the well being of us all.
