These people we have elected to represent us are meeting behind closed doors to discuss how much of our money we are allowed to keep as well as every aspect of our lives. I think it is time to open up the discussions so that we can see just what is being done and by whom. We have no rights anymore. I am sick of it.

A heartfelt thank you to the multitudes of people who reached out this past week to help us find our beloved dog, Sandy, who was lost in Kanawha State Forest for six days. A special thanks to Lorrie and Randy Burdette who went out to look for her, found her and brought her to us alive and well. There are truly angels on earth.

For those of you so down on AEP and getting electric restored, I have been waiting over two months to get a new light bulb in a streetlight. If they can't change a light bulb, how do they do anything else?

Why the large discrepancy in gasoline prices in certain areas in West Virginia? Example: In Charleston and the metro area, it's $3.45, and in the Gassaway area it is $3.19. It appears the Charleston-area retailers raise their prices and we have to take it. This has been going on for years and has become the new normal. Just before Christmas, in the Charleston area, prices went up 30 cents overnight. Maybe our new attorney general, Morrisey, can check this out.

Referring to the Vent on Dec. 28, 2012: Nikita Khrushchev also said, "We will bury you" as he was pounding his shoe on a desk at the United Nations. As the uninformed public walks down the wide and smooth path that they have been led to choose, perhaps they should revise the old saying that "Those who ignore history are condemned to repeat it" with "Those who are not taught history are condemned to repeat it."

I'm most proud I voted twice for George Bush. I helped put someone in the White House who had class and didn't act like a 3-year-old thinking because he won the election it entitles him to be a dictator. Bush didn't force the taxpayers to pay for extravagant vacations to Hawaii. Obama is too good for Camp David?

A short editorial in the Dec. 29 Saturday Gazette-Mail lamented the fact that no one has really been punished for the lax security during the Benghazi attack resulting in the death of four Americans, including Ambassador Stevens. Those of us still waiting for George W. Bush and Dick Cheney to be punished for their lax security allowing the attacks of 9/11 really sympathize with you.

Dec. 28, 2012, headlines from MSN: "Chicago records 500th homicide of 2012." Chicago has very strict gun control. West Virginia had 80 murders in 2012. One out of every 20 persons in West Virginia can legally carry a concealed handgun. Enough said.

So someone thinks West Virginia is for sale claiming Patrick Morrisey used his wealth to win his election. Well, duh. Doesn't this person know Jay Rockefeller's money was used in every election Jay ever ran since setting foot in this state?
