To the Board of Education members Haden and Phillips that resigned because of the firing of Jorea Marple: If the truth was known, the ones that fired Marple wanted rid of you two also.

Well, I see that out-of-state funds fueled the GOP victories in our election. That's great. The coal barons and other rich Northeasterners are raping our state again.

The only thing Congress has done by passing these bills is to delay the next revolution.

To the person in Tuesday's Readers' Voice: Well, let me tell you something. They will take your cold, dead gun away from you and your fingers because you're not going to shoot nobody. You have to be insane to shoot somebody or kill somebody. And let me tell you something else. Why would you want an assault weapon to protect your home? You going to cut your grass with it?

You know, I can't believe that the Republican Party has gotten this far down so that they'd bow down and kiss Obama's butt again, but that seems to be what they're doing. If they do it now, they're going to have to do it at the fiscal cliff and at all the rest of the deals for the next four years. They're just going to have to eat it every way they turn.

I want to thank Shelley Moore Capito, daughter of a convicted felon, for the opportunity to vote against her. Living in Boone County, I never had this great opening to vote against you until you decided to throw away your safe seat in the House of Representatives. Your only chance is for Jay Rockefeller to decide not to run again; and if this doesn't happen, you have no chance.

To whoever stole the Make-A-Wish container from Tudor's in Smithers on Thursday night, may you be severely punished by the proper authorities and God. You hurt children and the punishment should be the most severe. You are cowardly and evil.

The NRA's thinking reminds me of Archie Bunker's solution to stopping airplane hijacking: "Pass out pistols when passengers get on and take them up when they get off."
