CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- How 'bout them 'Eers. WVU bites the dust again in another bowl game. Thank you, Syracuse, for the best Christmas present I got this year. 38-14. It was a most enjoyable Christmas. I just can't thank you enough.
I agree with the caller from Boone County. I live in Mingo County, and I also will be voting against Shelley Moore Capito when she runs against Jay Rockefeller.
To the caller who said he or she is so happy they voted for George Bush two times, I am very happy that I voted for President Obama two times.

Reader complaining about the officer out of uniform: If a physician were at the local shopping center (on his day off, and without his white coat) and you had a "heart attack," should he administer CPR or just walk away? This officer is always an officer, and this person made a wrong decision!
What with all the coverage by TV stations over the picture of Jesus Christ in a Jackson, Ohio, school, no one has stated the obvious: They do not have a picture of Jesus Christ in the school. No one knows what Jesus looked like, and there is no description of him in the Bible. What the Ohio school has is a painting of a Caucasian, very European man, and I doubt Jesus, being a Jew from the Middle East, looks anything like that.
Britain has gun control and has 35 gun murders a year. The U.S. has no gun control and has [more than] 11,000 gun murders a year.
If you collected a paycheck this week you saw more go out in taxes. If you spent any money you paid more in taxes. Yet the Democrats still claim 99 percent of the country won't see higher taxes. Do the Democrats have a clue what a tax is? Their great leader says he's not raising taxes so it must be true?
So Shelley Capito and her Republican chicken-hawk friends oppose Chuck Hagel as the new Secretary of Defense. I guess that it is because he actually served in the military and was wounded in Vietnam while G.W Bush and Dick Cheney were drunk riding out deferments and being AWOL from the Texas National Guard. I will be happy when she loses her bid to be the other Republican U.S. senator from West Virginia in 2014.
Let's all stick together, all of us independents, and let's see if the Republican Party has got the guts to actually do what they need to do and not allow this debt ceiling to go up. Make Barack Obama live on what George Bush lived on and we'll be happy. ... This right here, he is totally out of control. We can't allow that. ... Shut it down.
I think everyone remembers the 47 percent remark made back during the election and all that crap that went with it. What they didn't realize is it's actually the truth. Mr. Obama is going to use 50 percent to pay 47 percent to sit home on their butt, and he's got a dead set block right there that he can use for his voting block anytime he wants. All he's got to gain is 2 or 3 percent.

Why doesn't the mayor just step down? All he wants to do is get his picture taken or get talking somewhere. We need some houses tore down in this valley real bad so we can all get on with our lives.

I am a retired senior citizen carrying supplemental insurance that I kept from a previous employer covering my wife and I. My new premium for 2013, which I just received today, is increased by over 30 percent in order to "control costs and ultimately insure they can continue to offer us valuable benefits." I cannot help but think this is going toward paying for Obamacare for folks who do not work. What a rip-off this is, and nobody has the guts to stop it.

Comparisons have been made between Obama's rise to power and Hitler's rise to power in the 1930s. Now a Democrat has written a bill to abolish term limits, which would allow Obama to stay in office for years to come. This country needs to wake up before it's too late.
Steve Dunlap was WVU's defensive coordinator when they led the nation in defense and Holgorsen fires him. Dunlap's the only coach on WVU that's proven himself. Meanwhile, Holgorsen keeps his buddies he hired who were defensive coordinators this year when the defense was one of the worst in America.
