Ineptitude of the highest order now reigns in WVU athletics. We are destined for years at the bottom with our football and basketball teams. My allegiance, loyalty, and passion are now completely gone. I will find a good Division III program to root for.
In the last century 56,000,000 people have been killed worldwide in countries with gun control. An unarmed population is at the mercy of its government. The Second Amendment was put in there for a reason. It works. It doesn't need to be changed.
You know that if West Virginia Water would fix some of their leaks before letting them leak for a week to a month before fixing them maybe they wouldn't need a raise. I know that a leak on Campbells Creek next to the Auto Auction [location] ran for a week before they attempted to fix it.
Instead of playing superhero, wouldn't it have been a lot easier and safer for everybody if the off-duty trooper in St. Albans would have just gotten the shoplifting lady's license plate number and sent troopers to her house later on to arrest her?
Just wondering if anybody agrees with me on this: If the United States would quit borrowing money from China then turning it around and giving it to every other country with certain needs and causes, wouldn't the United States soon be out of debt if they could stop practices like that? Borrow from one country to give it all to another. It sort of sounds stupid to me.
If the person who took the clerk's purse from Precinct 350 on Election Day would just deposit it on the doorstep of the Nitro Police Department with the keys and all the papers in it, the money would be forgotten and nothing would ever be said. It would be greatly appreciated if you would be that honest. Thank you.
Boy, once these public officials get their feet in the hog trough it sure is hard to pry them out, isn't it? Marple's suing the state, and I guess that McGraw will be suing the voters next.
I'd just like to comment these little towns like Eleanor and Buffalo along the river that went through the trouble to put up Christmas decorations for the holidays, as they do every year. It really adds a nice atmosphere to the area. Thank you to those who go through the trouble of putting those up in bad weather and also [taking] them down.
To the person that called in about the trooper doing his job over at St. Albans in front of Goody's, I hate to tell that person, but a trooper policeman is on duty 24/7.
What I'd like to know is why don't all you gun nuts wanting to ban guns and everything bring up the Kent State University shooting back there when the government troops killed all those kids, and that's the first school shooting I can remember.

To the person speaking of Obama being Time [Person] of the Year, so was Adolf Hitler and look what he was able to do with Germany after he took their guns away from them.
Has the governor ever made a statement about the illegal firing of Dr. Marple? If he has, I've never heard it. I think the governor needs to get a backbone.
I went to see the new Spielberg Lincoln movie. I've seen several of the Lincoln movies, however the Spielberg movie was rather boring. The costumes were nice.
To all you scabs out there who think you're the hardest workers in the world, your company's got you right where they want you -- working long hours for low wages and no benefits. Congratulations for not having a spine.
To the person talking about the trooper, he was on duty 24/7 whether he's in uniform or not, as most police officers are. And he did identify himself. Get a life.
The NRA recommended armed guards in every school to protect students. How about putting unmanned drones over every school equipped with nuclear missiles and cameras? Dick Cheney has a lot of time on his hands so he can monitor the drones and send the kill signal. The drones will be bought from Halliburton so the Republicans in Congress will approve the purchase.
With all the talk and push for exercise and healthy living, why has the Corps of Engineers failed us again? The Marmet Locks property is the perfect place for walking trails on and around Mount Marmet. Who can help make this happen?
Why doesn't some ambitious lawyer start a class action against Global Tel and the Regional Jails for charging $25 for a local phone call? That is more of a crime than most of the inmates are in there for. I'm sure he would have lots of clients.
Is there any place in the valley to donate a good used TV set?
I drive by Magic Island every morning on my way to work. Since just before Christmas I have seen anywhere from two to five city workers building a child play area on the island. It took these workers close to 14 days to complete this job, a job I have done with the help of one other in less than two days. The cost of the play area: materials, $3,000; estimated cost of labor, $6,000. Could this money have been put to better use? Yes!
