Readers' Voice: Jan. 12, 2013
I just wanted to thank the ungrateful person who hit my burgundy Toyota Tacoma truck on the Boulevard on Jan. 11. I hope you have no regrets and can live a guilt-free life. With the damages you caused, it's money out of my pocket for repairs, money that was saved for my wedding in June.
Jan. 11, 2013, is a sad day for the West Virginia people. Darrell McGraw, champion of us little people, finished his last day in office as attorney general. What will happen to the Consumer Protection Division he built? Will the price of the consumer doing business return to buyer beware, with no protection from our state? Is the new AG's declaration to go after unscrupulous businesspersons a "scam" to start a witch hunt against McGraw because of the many suits he won against big business?
Capito knew Rockefeller wasn't going to run again. She wouldn't have the courage to challenge him, just like she didn't have the courage to run against Manchin for Senate and she didn't have the courage to run against Tomblin for governor. She wants everything easy.
I would like to thank Thomas Memorial Hospital for the fine dinner they prepared for the patients and visitors on Christmas Day.
Chesterfield Avenue in Kanawha City, from Chappell Road to MacCorkle Avenue on the backstreet, really needs paved. I want Danny Jones to use my $4 per paycheck user fee from Charleston to help pay for that road. That is so embarrassing that you have chosen to neglect that side of the street.
Hunting and gun ownership is a great privilege. The problem is the thousands of automatic gun owners who really want another civil war. They don't really care how many people die. They really hate America as it is.
It seems like the idiots are out in full force again in Illinois. They're going to give the known illegal immigrants driver's licenses. I would like to know what their problem is. The known illegal is illegal. What's wrong with these idiots?
With money getting tight because of our move to the Big 12, I feel like Coach Huggins should return some of the money from that contract because he is sure not earning it.
I think if you check the percentage in the state of West Virginia you will find there is quite a few more homicides by cop than there are homicides by individuals.
You call in and brag about paying, along with millions of others, to get Obama re-elected. What a joke. You fit the party well.
I would love to see someone shave Piers Morgan's head and tar and feather him. I'll buy him a plane ticket all the way back to wherever he lives. He doesn't need to be in the United States.
I would like to thank my newspaper customers in Hernshaw and Marmet for their generosity and thoughts at Christmastime. It was greatly appreciated.

Maybe if Sen. Manchin could get those kids on "Buckwild" a bogus MBA and use his influence or money to get them a CEO job at a major corporation, they wouldn't have to embarrass themselves and him.
I don't know where The Charleston Gazette is getting their information. I have yet to talk to an NRA person that is for more gun control. They're evidently getting their information from Charles Schumer.
Will the person who left the zebra-striped shoes in Kanawha City please call 304-925-1074? You evidently left them at the wrong house.
With the re-election of Barack Obama, it looks like the United States has changed from a country of makers and producers to one of takers and moochers. How sad.
Shelley Moore Capito signed Grover Norquist's anti-tax pledge as a special-interest group.
Those who oppose people having guns, they do have an alternative. They can pack up and go to England. Seems as though that's where they belong.
The picture of Jesus that is hanging on a wall in a Jackson County, Ohio, school is causing a lot of controversy from a group out of state. They should butt out.
This is for the person who wrote in to the paper that they paid to help President Obama get re-elected. You paid to support Obama because you are one of the beneficiaries of government handouts. I paid to give you your free lunch.
There were three great Americans whose obituary was in the paper this week. RIP and thank you so much for your service!
Of course the NRA was disappointed in the meeting with Vice President Joe Biden at the White House. The only way they would have been pleased would have been if Biden had said the only way to stop mass shootings is to give everybody in America a gun, unlimited ammo and a license to kill.
The new attorney general is fooling no one. Everyone knows that he was paid for by coal! So stop worrying about a few trinkets and cut to the chase. Pollute our air and make coal mining even more hazardous to the miners' health.
