Isn't it against the law for management to keep asking people when they're going to retire, making them uncomfortable and forcing them into retirement? Somebody please help me with this question.

When people are writing an obituary for a member of their family, do they honestly think their friends want to read brag-riff raff? It is so tacky. Come on. Keep it simple and tasteful.

For the lady who had all those horses that died and some of them partially dead, they need to sell part of her property to pay for the feed and care of some of the horses that have survived. She should never have another horse, dog, cat, bird or nothing.

So our little D.C. suburbanite popinjay attorney general is going to fight the U.S. government to protect West Virginia's gun rights. I bet he doesn't know one end of the gun from the other. He should leave things alone he doesn't know anything about.

I read the Readers' Voice every day and am amazed at some of the things that people say. Do they never listen to the TV or pick up a newspaper? The stuff they say is out of this world and has nothing to do with what's happening with this country. I don't know where they get these ideas. It's scary.

To the caller who called in and asked, "Where is Doug Harlow now and why doesn't Channel 8 keep us informed?" They have. Doug Harlow is on vacation for two weeks and they have been saying it.

Insurance lawyers, trade schools and car dealers are the most obnoxious commercials on TV. Necessary evils for a little bit of mediocre entertainment.

A note for Sen. Jay Rockefeller: As you leave the great state of West Virginia, please don't forget to take your picture that hangs on the wall at the Yeager Airport terminal. Then perhaps a picture of Chuck Yeager will replace it.

The gas and electric owners have us, the public, at their mercy. We know that bad weather happens. However, their employees need instructions in understanding, just as we need to show the same to them.

I just wonder if Clay County has quit delivering Meals on Wheels. I've not seen them for a few days and wondered what's happened to them.

Who in the world engineered the drainage ditch on Cantley Drive to throw the water all out on the street and now it's a cake of ice and very dangerous. Please, use a better engineer.

Well, now that we see Patrick Morrisey's way of doing things, I ask myself why oh why didn't I vote for Darrell McGraw?

I'm an 80-year-old woman, and I think that women have no business in the military, period, let alone in combat.
