The only reason the NRA wants armed guards in schools is that it will mean governments will have to buy tens of thousands of guns for them. The NRA is disgusting.
I would say Randy Moss is like Billy Ray Cyrus, good till he retires then never thought of again. I would say Jerry Rice is like Elvis, great while on top and still great years later. And you all know Billy Ray can't even closely compare to Elvis.
Power is what it's all about. The Manchins want it all and will stop at nothing to get what they want. Joe wants to be president and is doing his best to make himself known to the nation so he'll have a recognizable name nationwide. His stance on gun control was nothing but more hot air out of him. Being the first senator to speak out about gun control got him on a lot of TV shows. Now he's diluting what he said. His wife is running the state BOE, not Phares or Linger.
Can someone please explain to me why gas went up 20 cents on the gallon from $3.45 a gallon to $3.65 a gallon on Jan. 30 with there being no hurricanes, no pipeline disasters no shortages or no other reason except pure greed? While once again our elected officials sat back and raked in their kickbacks and did nothing to help the people.
After reading that many county sheriffs would not enforce any ban on guns, want to ask whether the ineffectiveness of our present laws on background checks is because these same sheriffs have not been providing information on arrests and convictions to the background checkers. If background checks were 100% enforced and complete, those who failed the test would not be able to get a gun without breaking a law. Now all they need do is go to a gun show.
Having read the Boone County Sheriff's letter to President Obama, I contend it makes no sense. He says he will not support any "alterations" to the Constitution or the amendments. The only way you can alter the Constitution is by an amendment. So what is he saying?
Bureaucracy in action: Why do our poor, overworked, underpaid school personnel take more than two weeks to provide a proof of enrollment?
Any sheriff that refuses to enforce the law should be removed from office for dereliction of duty. No sheriff has the legal authority, power or the constitutional right to judge a law unconstitutional. That is the role of the courts.

Concerning the Keystone XL pipeline, right now in Texas, a foreign corporation, TransCanada, is using our government's Fifth Amendment right of eminent domain to confiscate private land belonging to Americans, to build a massive oil pipeline so TransCanada can ship oil from the Gulf of Mexico to non-Americans around the world. Why should we allow this for a few temporary jobs?
We'll never know whether Al Gore would have been a worse president than Obama, but we know for sure that the person selected to be president in Al Gore's place was the worst president in the history of this country.
I'm outraged and embarrassed at the redneck West Virginia sheriffs who say they won't enforce stricter laws for gun sales. They're trying to make it sound like all gun sales would be prohibited, which they know is not true. Get out of your hollows, get out and see the world, and maybe you will gain some common sense and sensitivity.
As an assault weapon-owning West Virginian, even I am savvy enough to know what Wood County Sheriff Merritt is saying is illegal and treasonous. That, and assault weapons restrictions, or even a ban, do not amount to door-to-door confiscation anymore than they did from 1994-2004. You stay classy, Wood County.
Apparently the sheriff of Boone County doesn't understand how laws are created in this country. He needs to send his letter concerning his perception of the Second Amendment to his senators and his representative, as they are the people who pass the laws.
Since the sheriff of Boone County believes he has an option concerning which laws he enforces, then this citizen of Boone County reserves the right to choose which laws he obeys.
Years ago, in its infancy, the NRA needed a voice in D.C. The Republican Party recognized the opportunity for NRA money to support Republican candidates for office. The NRA objectives are not Republican, but the Republican objectives are NRA. ... It is amazing how twisted the NRA can make the argument against gun control while children and citizens are gunned down.
Update your Bible [reader], read Luke 14, verse 5. Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the Sabbath Day? Please, you are misleading people. Exodus 23: "You shall not spread a false report."
Thanks to the reader who also responded to the person who called President Obama a moron. I chuckled at your response. He/she said I was looking through rose-colored glasses. Decided this idiot was not worth a response.
I did not know that sheriffs can decide which laws they enforce and which laws they can ignore.
