This should be good news for the conservatives and Republicans: Upon Obama's January inauguration, according to a Gallup poll, his approval rating was lower than any re-elected president in almost 70 years.

Women are outperforming men in every area now. Shelley Moore will have no trouble replacing Sen. Rockefeller. How could our state have been so dumb to vote for him? Because he had all that oil money and the Rockefeller name to buy his way in. It should never have happened, and I still resent it.
I hate to tell all of you liberals out there, but when a true leader reaches out across the aisle, they want to listen in earnest to what the other side has to say. It does not mean to simply meet with the other side and dictate the solution.
Let's see, now the almighty Obama is weighing in on the NFL. This guy amuses me. He really thinks that he is so important and powerful that he can dictate any and everything to us. He really thinks he always knows what is right. I guess that happens when you are underqualified for a job and you feel the need to overcompensate for it. He should worry about the real problems and the ridiculous debt that he is ringing up.
Gun nuts heckled the father of one of the children killed in Newtown, Conn., over his views on guns. That shows their class and character. Disgusting.
To fix our education problem, it will require change that most people don't like, unless it includes winning the lottery. But that is not likely to happen. Would you be willing to sacrifice or inconvenience yourself for your child, grandchildren or the children of West Virginia to get them a quality education? Your support is going to be needed to change West Virginia's placement to a higher ranking. We can do this if you support the change needed to make it happen. Will you climb on board the change train?
I think it was a nice gesture that AEP donated $300,000 to WVSU, but I have to ask, would that money not have been of better use if they had used it to go out and do maintenance on their lines so that every time the wind blows or it snows, our power does not go out? If they have that kind of money just lying around, couldn't they lower their rates to the consumers? Donations are nice gestures, but not at the expense of the customers that really pay for it. Next week they will want a rate increase because they need more money.
With home invasions on the rise, it is imperative that you fortify your home. Drug-crazed people will stop at nothing to feed their addiction. Keep all your doors locked. Have a line of sight to see who may come to your door. A former sheriff advises people to arm themselves and keep a weapon near your bed at the ready. Policemen don't stop these crimes; they just fill out the paperwork afterwards.
Is the number of meth labs decreasing, or is the media just covering arrests? It appears that every day, a meth lab is busted. Are the laws passed to make it harder to get material to cook meth actually working? There are instances that people caught go right back to it almost immediately. Is higher bail and longer jail time the answer?
People in large numbers drooled over new car models at the auto show. In reality, do you need a new car? If your vehicle is reliable and just needs routine maintenance, you may need to wait to buy another. On the other hand, if you are shelling out a lot of money to just keep it on the road, a newer vehicle may be in your future. This almost sounds like a horoscope, doesn't it?
It is the year 2014 and a burglar is in your house in the middle of the night. You fire a warning shot from your assault rifle to scare the intruder. A firefight ensues. You empty a legal 10-shot clip and the burglar shoots you with his illegal 30-shot clip rifle. Looking over his shoulder, the burglar says, "The laws don't apply to me," as your life slips away.
Conservatives who believe that Congress declared a state of war against Iraq are mistaken. Congress has not declared a state of war, as required by the Constitution, against anyone since 1941.
It doesn't make much sense that gun nuts protest background checks, considering it an invasion of privacy, but have no objection to the government using the Patriot Act to spy on them. Where is your outrage over that fact?
