I hope everyone has their TV on and is listening to the president treat us like we're still idiots again like he always has in his comments concerning the budget. These budget gimmicks, I've got better sense than that and I'm a dumb West Virginian, and I know he's lying because his lips are moving.
When will Suddenlink raise their rates again to pay for more advertising and still show the lousy TV programs?
Why don't they get somebody that can sing the national anthem without screaming and hollering? Those people on the Super Bowl, all they do is scream and holler.
Well, a big bridge demolition in St. Albans went to an Ohio construction company. Don't we have a lot of West Virginia companies that could do the same job and we also need jobs and money?
I notice that woman ... from Roane County [who] allegedly starved those poor horses, she sure didn't miss a meal.
President Obama's observation on terrorism: waterboarding by the Bush administration violates America's principles. But killing American citizens with drones is OK. Only a liberal genius could defend such twisted logic.
I'm really proud for West Virginia not voting for Obama, but the problem is we're going to have to suffer anyway because all the other halfwits that voted for him.
Can management at DuPont continue to ... ask people who are eligible for retirement their retirement date? Is that against the law?
To get rid of stinkbugs that everybody's complaining about, I get a napkin or Kleenex and grab the stinkbug, wrap it up and put it in a little plastic bag. I got them in the sweeper before and in the sweeper I would cover it up with a plastic bag.
To the person who said West Virginians don't know what entitlement means, I'm not sure they know what entitlement means. They failed to mention welfare, HUD, food stamps, SSI, medical cards for the drug dealers. I think they need to look up entitlements themselves.
Thank you to the sheriffs and law enforcement officers of this nation that refuse to enforce any new illegal laws against the Second Amendment as proposed by the current administration, the same administration that carried out Fast and Furious.
It didn't take long for the cocky mayor of Nitro to mess up, did it?
Many of the greatest legal minds in the U.S. are still trying to interpret the Constitution, when all they need to do is consult West Virginia county sheriffs.
Cyber-attacks are easily thwarted: Don't run the country on the Internet.
How long are the citizens of West Virginia going to allow public officials to fire dedicated public servants without giving a reason for their termination? I am all for eliminating employees who do not do their jobs, however, public officials should be required to give the citizens they serve a reason for their dismissal.
With cellphones and Internet, the Postal Service is no longer the lifeline to rural areas many claim it is. Losing Saturday service will not be the end of the world as many are predicting. Our country is facing much larger problems than receiving more junk mail on Saturdays.

You Obamacrats need to read the book of Isaiah, the 59th chapter, and just see where your president has led the people of this country.
Randy Moss can kick back and take it easy now because the rest of his football career is going to be all downhill.
Genesis chapter one and chapter two tells you all about the seven days of the week. God rested on Sunday. So should everybody else.
Why did you call Strom Thurmond's illegitimate daughter a mixed-race daughter in the Feb. 5 paper? If you call her a mixed-race daughter, why don't you call our president a mixed-race president? Just wondering.
If you have had or performed an abortion, in God's eyes you are no different than the ones who pull the trigger.
Julie Robinson's food column and Karin Fuller's Sunday Smell the Coffee column are the highlights of the newspaper. Those are the only two days of the week I take the paper is Wednesday and Sunday. Julie and Karin are treasures. They're wonderful writers.
Aren't all you gun nuts afraid that somebody might break into your home with a machine gun and a 300-round clip of ammunition and the only thing you have is an AR-15 and a 30-shot clip?
I was so glad to see [the] Gazette article about Tom McGee. I've been a fan ever since he joined WCHS news in the mid '80s.
Isn't it funny after every Putnam County school board meeting that Chuck Hatfield, the superintendent, is always the spokesperson, not the five elected officials? That just doesn't sound right to me. And for whatever you do, please don't give these local school boards more authority.
I was just reading in Readers' Voice where somebody said that most of the gun deaths were fueled by alcohol. ... If that's true, let's ban alcohol. Nobody needs to drink alcohol anyway.
This is to the stuck-up individual who said: "It's a shame the NRA is so full of cowards that they need an assault rifle to protect themselves." You need to be knocked off your high horse and pay attention to the news. Every day, people are being robbed, home invasions, kids being molested.
Jorea Marple was the head of schools in West Virginia. She was a well paid executive. Her retirement is based on the last five years of income, as is everyone else. Why should she not be paid accordingly? You say the same is not true in the private sector. Have you not seen the golden parachute given retired executives?
Exodus 31:13-17, Exodus 23: 12 and Deuteronomy 5:13-14 tell us not to work on Sunday.
The panic at the White House and in Congress over the coming automatic government spending cuts is hilarious. They truly cannot stand the idea of actual cuts taking place. They prefer substituting phantom future reductions in spending. Rest assured they will not allow anything real to take place.
So the NRA wants to put armed guards in every school in America and wants us, the taxpayers, to pay for it. Think of it, these paranoid cowards want us to pay for their right to hide behind an assault weapon! ... I'm a hunter and a gun owner, but we need some sanity in America.
