Obama is not really coming for your guns. If you think about it, what would the government do with warehouse after warehouse full of guns that had to be taken from people and then disposed of in an environmentally safe fashion? More likely, they're looking for a way to eventually get full registering and then charge annual fees for licensing.
Photo ID for gun permits is unnecessary. Yet Sheriff Rutherford wants to try to force the issue by his solitary fiat command. What about a public hearing? When does a cop ever ask for a concealed carry permit without asking for your driver's license too?
Prosecutor Plants: I know we do not know any of the reasons (since you won't tell us), however, if firing a long-time outstanding prosecutor like Ms. Akers, whom you have personally recently praised, is how you are going to do the people's business, you have lost my vote.
Our [U.S.] Postal Service stuck us with junk mail as a means to finance the system. All it did was fill up our landfills and break down our trash trucks with all those worthless catalogs.
After several years of working without a raise, I made $156 more in 2012. In the meantime, the county has raised my taxes $200. AEP wants me to pay for them to trim trees not on my property, and most of the utilities have increased except for natural gas. Where will I find the money for all these increases?
Although she is not running for any office, a Karl Rove PAC is running an ad in Kentucky against actress Ashley Judd (whose only obvious fault is being a University of Kentucky basketball fan), saying she is a "Hollywood liberal." Ms. Judd should answer this by saying, "Of course I'm a liberal. I have a brain."
I watched "Schindler's List" last night. How can anybody oppose universal gun ownership after watching stories about the Holocaust?
So violent video games make you a mass murderer yourself? Interesting, especially since I've played most of the usual suspects of "violent inspiration" (Doom, Mortal Kombat, Grand Theft Auto) and have never touched a gun in my life, let alone brought a gun to school and started shooting everything up.

The Gazette's usually supportive of public education, so I'm a little baffled by your encouraging of the Legislature to open the door to Teach for America volunteers. How is saddling kids in difficult-to-staff schools with "volunteers" who need not even have degrees in the fields they teach an improvement over professional educators with years of study in their academic disciplines?
The million they are spending on Holly River could be used to fix up many other parks. I wonder how many 100-year-old wonderful full-sized trees will hit the sawmill because of this grand renovation. Generators or solar would go a long way.
Just love the new TV ad saying your right to sue for mismanagement of your loved ones in Kentucky nursing homes is frivolousness. The scoundrels pushing this nonsense amongst other things are roaming freely around West Virginia.
Nowhere in the book of Genesis does it say to rest on Sunday. It clearly states the seventh day. Several religions believe Saturday to be the seventh day, thereby being the Sabbath. For anyone to presume that their religion and their day of worship is the only correct day is arrogant, biased and judgmental.
