That was an appropriate place to put all the new gun permits right beside of the weddings and divorces because I'm sure many of those people will die by the guns that were bought by those idiots.
Please get rid of Leonard Pitts. He is nothing but a troublemaking person.
There is no mystery on why the Mountaineers went from playing in the Final Four three years ago to basically zero this year. It's one simple reason and nobody will have the guts to say it. Huggins is not recruiting.
Why can't our government take $10 from everyone that gets a government check, from everyone that gets food stamps or anything else provided by the government? Take $10 for those who don't take anything from the government. ... Put all this money in a pool and the debt would be down in less than a year.
I heard a radio show bemoaning the fact that many people are unable to go to West Virginia football games. ... Well, ever look at the cost of it? For one person it's over $100 for gasoline, meals, tickets.
When I see the number of people asking and receiving gun permits, it tells us something. People are afraid of our government and people are afraid of their neighbors. We are living in a state of fear.
Why is it when budget cuts are necessary we always look at the bottom of a totem pole for a reduction? Most of our money problems result in the cabbage disease. That's where the head is being larger than the stalk. The heads refuse to be considered for any cuts or reductions.
Sunday article headline reads "Republican Party going the way of the Whigs." The headline ought to read "America, by its leftist policies, going the way of the socialist Europe and shambles economically."
Shame on you Multifest board of directors for having people come out Saturday night to listen to the mess that you fed us where no questions were allowed to be asked. How dare you ask the community for their assistance when you don't want to tell the community what your future plans are.
Does anyone really take Rush Limbaugh seriously? Come on.
It is sad that any school employee can't see that many children have parents who aren't very well educated themselves. Perhaps this good person could get together a few meetings with stay-at-home moms and pleasantly help them understand how they can help their children be better prepared.
I seen in the paper today where they're wanting to cut back on peoples' Social Security checks. Why don't they cut back on their big salaries each year? That way they'd have enough to pay us. We worked and earned every dime we get.

People are tired of having their property taxes raised and nothing resulting from it. The reason the library is a failure is because people can't afford it anymore. They want to build a fancy showcase library so all the people in South Hills can have a place they can brag about.
It sounds like we need some new board members on the Putnam County Board of Health since they're obviously not concerned with the health of Putnam County but they're more concerned with their political or personal agendas.
To the one who vented about Coach Huggins' clothes he wears to the basketball games, he doesn't wear suits. He wears his other outfits, but he has a good record. They ought to concentrate on his record instead of the clothing he wears.
The data is there to show that educational preschool programs do prepare young children, especially those from disadvantaged homes, to achieve in public schools. Programs such as Head Start are worth their weight in gold.
Jorea Marple should run for governor. I worked under her supervision when she started the first Head Start programs in West Virginia. She knows how to serve the people.
So, the Board of Education and the Supreme Court both believe that libraries have nothing to do with learning. If ignorance like that starts at the top, what can you expect by the time it gets down to the school kids?
Does anyone at the tax department work? Federal tax returns have been deposited like weeks ago and state return just says "in process." Wow, how slow them people are.
John Kerry recently told a group of German students, "In America, you have a right to be stupid." It should be made clear that Americans are not required to exercise that right.
Teachers, union workers, unemployed, and more upper- and middle-class citizens are becoming dissatisfied with the right wing of the distasteful Democratic Party, or as I call it, the shysters taking over the party to forward an agenda of the GOP.
People on welfare are not freeloaders. Many were upper or middle class before their jobs were taken. I see no joy or benefit in taking away their food and housing. There are no living-wage jobs available.
Would someone at the Gazette please list each position in the state Department of Education, the salary of each, and each position in each of the RESAs and their salaries? Do not mention names, it is not their fault the money is being wasted. I think the average taxpayer would be amazed at the waste of money ... feathering the nest of a few.
The Kanawha County school board president calling public libraries parasitic is the pot calling the kettle black.
Has the state Tax Department issued any refunds yet?
