I would just like to see Charlotte Pritt run for Jay Rockefeller's Senate seat.
The voice calling Girl Scouts evil and mad is just a bit too extreme for my taste. They have a point. They could sell something a little less habit-forming and unhealthy than cookies, but this person apparently has never been subjected to real, true evil.
If our leaders in Charleston think that extending Medicaid will bring 6,000 jobs to West Virginia, I think they need to restudy the proposal. Probably only the health-care providers are going to make any money ... off the taxpayers' back.
One cannot help wondering if the super-ambitious Ms. Tennant might have had anything to do with the totally uncalled for treatment of the goodhearted and tried and true Dr. Marple. Not accusing, just wondering.
At a time when America desperately needs some real leadership, what have we got in the White House? A community organizer.
There's a lot of discussion in political circles about raising the salary of schoolteachers. I'm wondering if they would check and see how much of an improvement we got in our school programs when they got their last raise.
It is beyond belief the vice president of the United States would recommend running into your backyard and shooting a shotgun or any other gun into the air as a method of self defense. ... I can't believe we have the mentally lame advising us on gun control and violent crime.
I have an answer for prison overcrowding: Build another prison. The idea to release prisoners or have more lenient sentences is simply ridiculous. That is a definite liberal way of thinking. That's all we need is to have prisoners loose on the street.
Yeah, I figure a lot of the Baby Boomers probably remember this rhyme: March wind brings April showers. April showers bring May flowers. Repeat. ... I hope everybody remembers that.
I would like to know when kids are out of school in March, April, May and the last days in school in June. I would like to know because it's hard for me to be able to find it in the calendars nowadays.
In a crisis situation, real leaders show their leadership skills. In this economic crisis situation, our leader, President Obama, launches a publicity campaign.

All the anti-gun people along with E.J. Dionne, Leonard Pitts, Eugene Robinson ... just cool your jets because you will never see the American populous disarmed in your lifetime.
To the person who thinks Girl Scouts are evil and shouldn't push the cookies on everybody, you just need to take a handful of Prozac and get you a gallon of milk and a box of cookies. Sit back and enjoy.
Congress and the president have to begin treating the debt like a mortgage. Start paying both the interest and the principal.
Yes, I believe the reader would say the same thing even if it was concerning a white president's children, but the main thing is it's always people like you because you evidently don't have anything else to do but want to bring up the racist issue.
I read that BrickStreet is giving $4 million to WVU. It made me sad, because the Morgantown university has mountains of money, while West Virginia State University and Tech at Montgomery -- here in the Kanawha Valley -- need donations a lot more.
Hey, folks. Get off George W. Bush's back. I mean, I'm a Democrat, but he was two terms ago, not current. Obama is current, so that's the reason people are picking on Obama. ... Join the now and you might be able to learn something.
Kudos to the town of Glasgow and Montgomery, for those towns must be crime-free. However, if you need a police officer, they are on U.S. 60 trying to catch speeders. Montgomery doesn't have one residence on that side of the river.
People can say anything they want about the loud boom. I worked for a coal mine for 32 years. When water gets in the hole, if the hole is not loaded correctly, the blast comes out of the top of the hole instead of cracking the rocks. It's called a blowout.
When are the smart people in Congress going to impeach your friend? It's about time.
The worst thing that has ever happened to the United States was when Barack Hussein Obama was elected.
My grandson has a guardian ad litem because of the divorce of my daughter and her husband. They do nothing. They just collect the money and they do nothing for the children.
It seems that if the Teach for America teachers were so involved or interested in education, they would have gone to college to be a teacher.
I wish our president, Mr. Obama, would pay as much attention to our economic problems as he does the plight of gay people. Perhaps that is not fair to him but just my perception because this newspaper gives too much ink to gay rights and seems to stress his approval.
