The city of St. Albans should take some of the $249,000 in grant money they received and use it for litter cleanup. Every major thoroughfare in St. Albans, including the historical district, is always littered with trash. It's like putting lipstick on a pig.
It's obvious the people still claiming the GOP is out to end Social Security and other programs have their heads buried in Democrat quicksand and aren't paying attention to the news. Their beloved Democrat leaders are the ones threatening programs, using them as leverage to get the GOP to vote for socialism.

Why are gun owners being condemned, while the doctors, lawyers and judges who were responsible for letting people with histories of violent acts out on the street to kill, are allowed to continue letting more out? They get off with a, "Oops, we were wrong." But the average law-abiding citizen loses his Constitutional rights.
Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky is rapidly climbing the "hopefully too stupid to reproduce" list. He is an absolute fruitcake.
Concerning Randy Moss, quit worrying about athletes' personalities and concern yourself with what they accomplish on the field. That's what they are paid for. Statistics say that Moss is in the top five receivers who have ever played in the NFL, and he will be in the NFL Hall Of Fame some day.
Remember, when you're quoting the Bible, that you're quoting from the edited version and not the full book.
West Virginia lawmakers oppose the discontinuing of Saturday mail delivery. The U.S. Post Office is losing money because it is not being used. Perhaps a better mode for our lawmakers would be to require Social Security to mail checks and for Congress to pay for its use of the Post Office instead of using their franking privileges. Those actions would provide income for an agency that is losing money.
Over the years I contacted Attorney General Darrell McGraw's consumer protection office three times. Nothing was ever done by them for me -- so much for his consumer protection legacy for me.
Facebook cleared $1 billion last year, paid no income tax, yet gets a tax refund of $429 million. And that is just one corporation, out of over 25, that paid no income taxes last year. And Republicans scream about welfare fraud. The Republicans defending corporations are the real fraud.

I wish to congratulate the library director of the Southern Area Public Library in Lost Creek, Mary Beth Stegner, for her ingenuity and hard work in bringing the Library Journal's attention to a small, but dynamic place of learning, community service and participation. I also commend the Gazette-Mail for printing the excellent article.
Obama was so worried about sequestration that he had to go to Florida to play golf with Tiger Woods. Poor thing.
Is there a law that only men pay child support because when shoes reversed I got no break and neither does any other man I know.
The 51 percent who voted this president in are nothing but freeloaders wanting their ice cream and don't care who has to pay for it. It's time this nation wakes up and sees what's really happening.
Please, if you can, support your local library.
Four more years is really a long time.
Have you ever heard of the movie, "The Lost Weekend?" Religion has nothing to do with the fact booze is not available for purchase on Sunday except at a hotel. Most people do not work on Sunday, so getting drunk could be their choice of entertainment. When they run out, they jumped in the car to buy more, thus driving under the influence.
Why would any WVU fan truly want to see this team in the NCAA tournament? This year's team should be like the old soldier and "just fade away."
Why hasn't the city taken the profits from all those millions of tourist dollars spent at the Civic Center and deposited a portion, say 10 to 15 percent, into an escrow account for maintenance expenses and upgrades as needed? Seems all the politicos want to do is take the profit and spend it.
As my old Grandma used to say, "I think Erik Wells has gotten a little too big for his britches."
