As coaches and enthusiasts always boast, "athletics builds character," and that character met the Embassy Suites security and Charleston Police as represented by the West Liberty athletic director, his son, and athletes.
I voted for Obama twice and I am not sorry. I would vote for him again if we could. He is cleaning up the mess that Bush and Cheney left us, in spite of McConnell, Boehner, and the so-called tea party.
To the reader who commented on his travel between Chelyan and Boomer on U.S. 60, unfortunately that is true of Interstate 64, I-77, I-79 and U.S. 60 through much of the Kanawha Valley. Thank goodness for the state Capitol and the natural scenery on the "outside" of the Kanawha Valley.
Historic day! The Dow hit an all-time high! The retail index is hitting all-time highs, and the auto industry, banking and construction are booming. A big thank you to President Obama for saving our country from the destroyers of capital!
All right, Wheeling Jesuit! Way to keep it classy.
Heard John Ellis Bush (Jeb) on Hannity last night. Makes a lot of sense. Wish he would consider running for the White House. He cut expenses without raising taxes for eight years as governor in Florida. Go Jeb.
Yay Putnam County! They are not going to do all-year school. If Kanawha County does all-year school, I will be moving my family to Putnam County. Hallelujah!
How many of these college kids were underage, drinking at the Embassy Suites with the coach? This shows what our colleges are for. Underage kids out drinking and the school takes up for it. They should have all been arrested.
I just wanted to thank Dr. Paul Clancy for his wonderful article on legalizing medical marijuana. It is so needed in this state.
Sen. Mitch Carmichael should just go ahead and put on a big frizzy yellow wig, a bright red nose and some big floppy shoes. That way he'll more correctly resemble the role he plays during his time in Charleston in the Legislature.
I hope all those politicians, Republicans and Democrats in Washington, are all ready to retire ... not simply because of what they're doing but because of the fact they will not try to work together. What a shame for our country.
