Seriously, coach? You looked at a schedule that required regular travel to Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa, about half of which were on weeknights, plus the non-conference trips to Gonzaga and Purdue and holiday tournaments, and you "had no idea" travel would be hard?
I've been a supporter of Dana Holgorsen. I liked Bill Stewart, but I still think that our stature slipped under [his tenure]. But when I read that Dana was at spring drills looking for his new quarterback, I was surprised. He should have been looking [for a QB] last season when we were suffering under Geno.
Why in the world would you be cheering Putnam County's decision to keep its schools on the traditional school calendar? Year-round schools allow for a more efficient use of both facilities and personnel, offer the same number of days off and, most importantly, improve students' ability to retain information.
The rebels the U.S. is supporting in Syria just kidnapped 21 United Nations peacekeepers, and the rebels we supported in Libya just invaded a private television network and kidnapped staffers. Shouldn't our government be subject to the same rules [we are if we support terrorist organizations]?
Bin Laden's son-in-law captured. Unemployment falls to lowest level since March 2008. Stock market hits all time high. Interest rates at all time low. These are just headlines from Thursday. Looks like the Republicans who said Obama's re-election would mean the destruction of the U.S. were wrong again.
In your editorial of March 6 you complimented Doug Skaff by calling [his firearms bill 'nutty'] when you knew he was ignorant. This young man should resign immediately as a delegate and the people should never re-elect him again, or his cohorts.
Hiring is up and the unemployment rate is dropping. President Obama's policies are pulling us out of the George W. Bush hole, in spite of the obstructionist Republicans.
Retired seniors who receive Social Security benefits, please pay attention to upcoming talks about entitlement reform. Our leaders are talking about a [change] that will cut $650 a year from the average senior. Contact your member of Congress and senators to oppose this cut to our standard of living.
The governor's education plan is doing nothing but returning education back to the good-old-boy days. Education begins at home with the parents. Why are they not cutting out the waste in the system first? Or going to open bidding and keeping things in the open, not behind closed doors as the state board does?
I hope everybody is satisfied [with] President Obama. He is going to give Egypt $250 million in aid and $1 billion to help pay off one of their loans, which we cannot afford. He doesn't mind raising taxes and cutting jobs here in America.

The only reason crossbows are not allowed for archery hunting is because the Bowhunters Association is opposed to crossbows. This is not my opinion, this was told to me by a DNR big game biologist at last year's March DNR meeting. The Bowhunters Association has the clout to block the bill from ever coming out of committee.
It's interesting that Washington approved $250 million in aid to Egypt ... but keeps claiming sequestration will hurt the poor the most. Let's urge Congress and the president to spend that money at home.
The TSA's new rules allow small knives, baseball bats, golf clubs and other sporting goods on planes, but no water. Thanks to the ban on bottles of water the TSA foiled more than 70 Evian-based terror plots last year. Yeah, right.
I support Rand Paul's rant in the Senate against drones being used against anyone on American soil. If there are terrorists, take them out, but don't use drones where innocent civilians could be killed.
Interesting how Hollywood seems to love Hugo Chavez while the rest of the USA knows that he hates us Americans. Reminds me of the old song, "Don't Cry for Me."
The majority of the so-called cuts in the sequestration agreement are actually reductions in the pace of future spending increases, which is why people outside of D.C. are sweating less than those inside the Beltway.
