I just read the comment about the unfair situation in the state basketball tournaments. It is about all of the Catholic schools and private schools that have the advantage in recruiting. We need to get them in their own league so we have an even playing field.

Thank you to the WVEA for trying to keep the hiring of teachers in West Virginia a fair practice. If the governor and legislators have their way, it will go back to the good-old-boy system.

Well, let's see, Huggins is making close to $3 million a year. He won 13 games. I'm not a mathematician, but if you look at the numbers, he is overpaid and needs to reimburse West Virginia because we got shortchanged.

I'll tell you why we have libraries. It is because not everybody has their face pressed to a computer. Some enjoy actually reading real books.

I think Ollie Luck realized it was going to be difficult competing with the big boys, but it has only been one season. How impatient are you?

I read on the Internet today about a remarkable thing that happened while filming the series "The Bible" in Morocco. In a scene filmed where Jesus said God's words are like a strong wind, a sudden strong wind started to blow and lasted for about 30 seconds. The entire cast was moved by the feeling of God's presence. Maybe he was telling them, "Job well done." I've studied the Bible, and the series is pretty accurate.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a computer, so that is why libraries are nice to have.

This is for the city garbage collectors. We've got a new man on our route. Everyone keeps stuff in black plastic bags; I even have some in my yard, but I always take my garbage to the curb. I don't want them traversing in my yard or on my porch picking stuff up.

From 5:30 a.m. on in the East End or Kanawha City, you cannot find a newspaper in a paper box. To get a paper, you have to go to the newspaper office.

I said years ago when Charleston Memorial contracted a parking garage to be built that the person who designed it needed psychological help, and that statement still stands true. Central Parking puts one person in one booth, and there is a line of cars trying to get out at the same time in the evening.

Something needs to be done about these mothers who walk off and leave their children with someone else to raise. The government or grandparents have to raise them. The mothers should be arrested for child abandonment.

I see where the Rover never found intelligent life on Mars. They would find the same thing if they sent it to explore the Republican Party.

The fracas at the Embassy Suites is just another example of the arrogant Northern Panhandle residents who think they are better than everyone else and can do whatever they want. I suggest cutting the panhandle off at the base and either giving it to Ohio or Pennsylvania.
