I 100 percent support requiring voters to show identification that proves who they are. ... As a resident of Lincoln County I would challenge Ms. Tennant to come and stand face to face with the public and tell us with a straight face that we do not need protection from voter fraud.
The hypocrisy of the federal government is when the government requires every citizen to be insured but not prove they are a citizen.
In hindsight the decision to remove Saddam was right. The decision to occupy Iraq was not. Ten years later, the failure to see the difference is to substitute hindsight for insight.
Not all war criminals are punished. Proof of this is the fact that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are still not behind bars.
Democrats squawked like plucked chickens when George Bush said he had the right to listen in on our phone calls. Democrats say absolutely nothing when Barack Obama says that he has the right to kill us without a trial.
If our enemies could launch an attack on the U.S. and get to Lebanon, Kan., the geographic center of the U.S., in less than two hours then we should arm our teachers like they do in Israel. But they can't, so we won't.
I am sickened to death at seeing Dianne Feinstein's picture on TV and print every few hours throughout the day. Enough is enough. She is in the media more than Obama. Notice I didn't say president before his name?
It is a true travesty that the woman that killed her husband in the hospital got home confinement. I think that shows a weak prosecutor's office and a weak community. To everyone that thinks this was a fair sentence, I have to ask, would you feel the same way if the husband had murdered the wife?
Bad guys don't cause trouble in city halls, courthouses or airports because there are people there armed and trained to stop trouble. The "guns prohibited" laws have little if anything to do with no gun violence in those places.
I love the idea of the WPA. I think that anyone who accepts a welfare check should be put to work to earn it. I know several people that I would like to sign up for the program.

I can't believe our elected county officials actually believe a few "guns prohibited" signs in public buildings and at the airport are stopping bad guys from doing bad things.
Your editorial about Medicare says that maybe the wisest course would be to expand Medicare until it covers every American. Medicare is not inexpensive. My wife and I pay about $2,500 per year plus a good bit for medicine. Are you sure everyone could afford Medicare?
Ninety-percent-plus families know how to balance a budget. You can't spend more than you earn. Wait. I think that's it. They don't earn their income, they just tax us to get money. Now we know why Congress can't balance a budget.
I have a real concern with all the people parking in front of the businesses in South Charleston, especially at the Marquee Theater? People park in the road and all along the front where it is marked off for emergency vehicles. What if there is a real emergency?
First it was guns, Bible, Obamacare, stopping the war, taxes, jobs and everything under the sun. When will you stop running from these fears and when will the lies stop? ... Obama has the best answers to empower you but look at the real culprits filibustering his policies.
When will we as a society quit giving a nod and a wink to underage binge drinking and all the craziness that goes with it? Everyone may think it's cool but it just looks stupid and leads to all sorts of negative lifetime consequences. Whatever happened to decency and ... just saying "no?"
West Virginia should not get one more dime from the federal government ... until they can explain where every penny of the $126.3 million they gave West Virginia for routers. ... Another disgrace on this poor state's reputation.
In Thurman, WV, does anyone know where the Humphrey boys are? Their dad owned Rudy's. They would be in the 80s age range.
Just FYI for the reader, New York City's mayor, Michael Bloomberg, is (now) registered as an independent. Regardless, the self-proclaimed soda police idea was just stupid, no matter what party you are in.
One has only to read the article about the poverty conference to see why students in West Virginia are not doing well in school. Every legislator needs to read this article and start addressing the real issues in West Virginia. This is the state that is rich in natural resources, but little of this wealth reaches the people who really need help.
Read the article in the Sunday paper from the guy who said we need guns for protection. I'm 70 years old, spent 22 years in the military, traveled to every state and overseas and I have never carried a gun or felt unsafe. [Maybe] the guy ... is just unlikable or a coward.
