A new study shows bad workers are happier on the job than good workers, who have to pick up the slack of the bad workers. I'll bet that study was done at DHHR.
The new emperor of the last fragment of the Holy Roman Empire (aka the Pope) sure is making an oddly conspicuous display of his humble, down-to-earth nature. It reminds me of Bullwinkle's quote, "When it comes to humility, I'm the greatest." Showmanship.
Lets get this straight, the GOP wanted the good citizens of West Virginia to practice abstinence and it does not work but they do not want to pay for abortions, birth control or food to feed kids having kids. What a great picture to paint.
The Gazette editorial page is getting more strange each day. The purpose of the March 29 editorial about Nixon was, I suppose, to suggest that Republicans use devious means to win elections. To use more recent history, the Gazette could editorialize about Obama's coverup of the Benghazi tragedy to win the 2012 election.
Those propaganda-shouting North Korean soldiers remind me of the tea party or gun nuts. Although their subject matter is different, the mindless repeating what they are told to say, isn't.
It appears we Boone County voters, in voting to change our member of the House of Delegates, have made a mistake. The previous delegate was inept, but the current one, "Pepperoni Roll" Nelson, is a complete fruitcake. Doesn't even wash his face before going to town.
With all the discussion of running a county library levy to help the Kanawha County Public Library, I hope the other libraries in Kanawha County are not forgotten -- Nitro and South Charleston. It would be great to have a more fair system of funding all of the libraries, since all of the taxpayers in the county pay toward the funding.
Recent story of a college student being suspended for refusing to write Jesus on a piece of paper and stomping on it for class assignment makes me question the value of a college education. What the heck does an exercise like this have to do with real situations later in life or in a workplace?
The shooting death of the district attorney in Texas proves that carrying a pistol in no way guarantees your safety. If neither him nor his attacker had a weapon, he would be alive today.
The Op-Ed column in the Gazette this morning shows that the young writer, Sara Hamilton, is wise beyond her years. I sincerely hope she will return to Kanawha County after her college years to play a part in the education administration of our county. Young people of this caliber are the hope of West Virginia.Just because you are a customer does not give you the right to be abusive and treat people like they are not human.
