Why is everyone saying Jessica Lynch is a hero? She gets her leg hurt, [and] winds up in a hospital as a hostage. There were no enemy soldiers in that hospital. They bring her home, give her medals ... The real heroes are the ones who were shot, mangled and killed.
Higher gas taxes? We already have the highest tax on gas of all the states around us. All the out-of-state drivers going through our state don't buy gas here when they know they can get it cheaper in boarder states.
Democratic President Barack Obama has used the Espionage Act to silence critics of government policies more times than all the other presidents before him put together since the act was passed in 1917. "Liberals" sure know how to pick them.
Another liberal poster leaves out important figures of an equation to push their agenda. Yes, Australian gun death numbers, which were low to begin with, have decreased with gun control. But overall violent crimes like home invasions, armed robberies and muggings are very high.
Seems like all we read lately in this column is whining, complaining, and criticizing ... all coming from sore loser Republicans. Why don't they spend their energy volunteering to help the families of the Bush/Cheney war casualties or the permanently disabled war veterans?
Seems like our lawmakers are leaning toward letting "non-violent" offenders off easy. When they come home and find someone in their house or their home robbed, maybe they would not feel that way.
People who actually want to work hard to change things for the better do not want to get involved in the dirty tricks and trades of politics.
I agree that Larry Miller is one of the better newspaper carriers I've ever seen. He reminds me of Shawn Hiner, who started as a courier when he was 14 years old. Shawn was a wonderful carrier and I thank him for being so kind to the older people.
All this attention over the death of a 21-year-old character of a "reality" TV show is shameful. Soldiers the same age are losing their lives every day overseas and people don't even acknowledge it. Yes, Gandee's death was tragic, but come on.
Lady Justice may be blind but that doesn't mean the public should remain in the dark and be unable to watch the nation's highest court.
Shame on Cecil Roberts. He is supposed to represent working coal miners. He appeared on stage with Joe Manchin. ... We all know which side Manchin is on.
Why are all these coal miners worried about their health insurance? According to the Gazette, Obamacare will take care of them along with everyone else.
