Gov. Tomblin needs to send up to 30 state troopers to Mingo County and clean up the drug mess that Sheriff Crum and his deputies were working on. Stay as long as it takes and then move on to other Southern West Virginia counties with drug problems.
Let's recap: Our state spent $27,664 for a portrait. That's more than many residents earn in a year. It also spent tens of millions on Internet routers that cannot be used. I suppose our state's educational rating was justly deserved.

I agree that all veterans serving in the Middle East war are heroes. But I'm offended by the comment Jessica Lynch was not a hero. ... She suffered a lot more than just a "hurt leg." I'm very proud of her and our troops.

The young ladies learning to knit by making winter gloves for children are setting a great example. Perhaps someone could start a similar effort for winter hats as well.
If things are so bad with the sequester, members of Congress and senators' pay should be cut in half until everything gets back to normal. Maybe they'll realize how everybody else is being affected.
